looks like it was cut for a reason and the extra scenes do not reveal anything new about the characters. There is one single exception though for Butler's character, the recut does indeed make sense. Ideally, this alteration could have been made for the
Theatrical Version as well.

If the Oscars were brave enough
to give awards to films like this, they couldn't help but nominate Corbin Bernsen for his brilliant turns in the two DENTIST films. Not since Joan Crawford and Bette Davis did Baby Jane, has an actor fully embraced the idiocy of his role and filled it
with superlative turns in mood and emotion. Bernsen seems to be having the time of his career in the role of Alan Feinstone/Larry Crane, the demented dentist who is still trying to convince himself he is not crazy.
While this sequel is slow in some spots, Bernsen's over the top shenanigans propel this movie and keep it grossly entertaining. Linda Hoffman is back as Bernsen's silent wife; Clint Howard stops by for a toothache, and
Jilliam McWhirter is Corbin's new love interest. The ending is way over the top, but hilarious in its own demented way.
I'm sure there'll be no Dentist 3, but Bernsen should be commended for showing that a good
actor can take any role and make it something memorable.

This
1976 film is written and directed by Rino Di Silvestro ( Werewolf Woman ), who mixes and matches characters and plots to keep our attention beyond the nudity.
We start with a train car full of women, who are brought
to the concentration camp and inspected by the medical staff. This means they get to be naked, which is obviously a main goal of this film.
As a sexploitation film this one is rather depressing, with appropriately somber
music, and a tacit acknowledgment that there is some history behind some of what we are seeing. Still, there are several interesting vignettes as Silvestro comes up with plausible vignettes for the sex in this one, although provoking thought would not
seem to be an obvious goal for a sexploitation film.

In 1991 Headpress released the film on video in the UK, with a BBFC 18 certificate. It was a numbered, 500 limited edition, and was slightly different due to having been re-edited by Buttgereit. Scenes with German text (most notably a
woman reading a typed letter) were changed to English, and the concentration camp scene had a four second close-up shot of Jorg Buttgereit being emasculated by a set of garden shears removed.
In 1997, to coincide with the
release of the second edition of Kerekes and Slater's book Sex Murder Art: The Films of Jorg Buttgereit, Screen Edge released the film with a BBFC 18 certificate. Since the film wasn't re-submitted, this version must be a re-issue of the Headpress
version. The box lists a running time of 80 minutes. Either this is a mistake, or the running time also includes trailers.

Summary Comments: Inspired by serial killer Ed Gein
Real-life Wisconsin serial killer Ed Gein inspired many distinguished films, including Psycho,
The Silence of the Lambs and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, but none is quite as disturbing as Deranged.
Roberts Blossom gives an alarmingly convincing performance as rural eccentric Ezra Cobb, whose mother's death unhinges him to
the point where he not only lovingly preserves her corpse in the living room but also goes out to find friends to keep her company not all of whom are dead when he finds them! Perversely, Ezra's more worried about what mother would say about his
various activities than he is about the prospect of being found out. Indeed, like Gein, he's cheerfully open about his activities when visiting friends, but no-one believes him.
Deranged goes all out to shock from the outset. The
image of Ezra carrying his dead mother into her bedroom is sickening in a way that few movies manage. The amoral attitude of the character adds to this sickness, and ensures that most audience members will be uncomfortable watching this film. Deranged
benefits from a superb lead performance courtesy of Roberts Blossom. Blossom does an amazing job of convincing us that he really is the psycho at the centre of the film.

Ricky Gervais recently had the Christmas 2014 special episode of his series Derek passed by the BBFC -- with an 18 rating. Other episodes from both series were passed 15, some for uses of the word cunt.
He was offered a 15 rating for the special if he bleeped some of the language but he declined, taking an uncut 18. He wittily explained the rating in a Facebook post:
They slapped an 18 Certificate on me because I
refused to bleep the bad language... I just hope no 17 year olds get to see it and have their lives ruined. The certification board said the reason it got an 18 certificate was because of too many cunts. I couldn't agree more.
What's
funny about this is that all of his four live stand-up DVDs are all 18 for multiple uses of cunt, but one, Fame , was passed 15 which similarly contained multiple uses of the word (it's three or four, I don't remember the exact number, but a number not far removed from the number in the Derek special).

I guess
you'd call Desperate Living the last of the earlier John Waters "gross out" cult classic films... He went a bit more mainstream after that.
The best way to describe Desperate Living (and I believe these are
Waters' words paraphrased) is "a fairy tale for adults with the minds of children..."
The story is as fun and entertaining as it is gross and disgusting... Getting to see Edith Massey in the roll of the evil
queen and villain is also quite hilarious and getting to see what she does with the castle goons is even funnier...
In my book however, the two most memorable scenes involve a cross dressing cop as well as a rather
amusingly severed ding dong.
Liz Renay, is also hilarious and really into her role... almost too much... in fact, its the sheer exhuberence of the actors in John Waters' films that make the films such a great watch... you
can tell that he's definitely the type of guy that could sell you the Brooklyn Bridge.
All in all, I'd have to say that along with Female Trouble its one of my favorite John Waters films... Whether you found Pink Flamingos
funny or offensive, expect to laugh and puke at the same time... this is JW at his most sick and childishly best!

Cut when submitted in 2005 but the DVD has yet to appear. Perhaps the cuts rendered it unviable. The BBFC made the following comment: Explicit images were cut from Desperately Seeking
Seka, a documentary about a porn star, in order to obtain an '18' certificate, because the images were considered gratuitous rather than serving any important documentary or narrative purpose .
A Swedish journalist (Stefan Nylén) travels to the US to seek out his all time favorite porn
star from the 70's and 80's in this cool little documentary from Magnus Paulsson & Christian Hallman. Seka was a platinum blonde sex goddess who ruled the big screen, as well as the little screen (home video) back in the golden & silver age of
porn.
However, in the 80's she up and vanished, leaving the business behind her. Where is Seka? How is she doing? Why did she leave it all behind? Along the way, Stefan travels to a porn convention in Las Vegas, interviewing
several of the people in the business who either knew Seka, or worked with her at one point in time. Apparently Seka wasn't too hard to find, and Stefan eventually travels to Chicago to meet his American Idol.
What fascinated be
about this movie was the actual Seka herself. This is now a woman who by simply looking at her today, you would think she was your next door neighbor! However, she conducts herself freely in her interview with Stefan, which I found to be quite refreshing
and entertaining. I really enjoyed the concept and execution of this film. Very much recommended if you like documentaries, and/or the history of porn and the adult film industry.
Destricted 's roster of shorts varies from the international release, to the U.S. release, to what is screened at the festival: the U.S. version features eight short reels, all of which are explicit in nature; six short films, including some
not on the U.S. release; and seven shorts, a mix-up of the previous lists, appear on the U.K. version.
I bought this DVD and can
safely say it is the most explicit thing I have ever seen passed with an 18 certificiate.
Seven artists have made a short film each based on art and pornography. Larry Clark's is the best - a 38 minute film where Larry interviews a group of boys
about their pornography viewing habits, before selecting one to have sex on camera with a porn star. Of the five girls, the young lad selects his favourite (the oldest woman there) and proceeds to live his dream as Larry films the event, warts and all.
Sync is good, as is Balkan Erotic, whilst Hoist and Gaspar Noe's segments are tough to watch, but never less than compelling.
Much more than exploitation, Destricted actually has a lot of validity in presenting its varied range of sexual
imagery (is masturbation good?), and I'm sure it will become a huge talking point in weeks to cum...
A gritty, tell it like it
is, white cop is assigned to find the men who robbed the fundraiser for the first black man to run for Governor of the state of Michigan. When he realizes that he can't do it alone, he reluctantly agrees to let a young black cop, who happens to be an
up-and-comer, help him out.
What follows is a mess of gun fights, funky music, and dead pimps. All culminating in probably one of the biggest shootouts/chase scenes in film history!
My jaw
was dropped and my eyes were open in amazement as Detroit cops and the robbers chased each other all over town whilst expending thousands of rounds of ammo. The ending came as quite a surprise, and nothing that I had seen coming.
This film is a very good movie, especially for blacksploitation, and it is a total blast. If you like blackploitation, see this. If you like action films, with millions of bullets, and bloody gunfights, see this. And if you like cop
movies with great chase scenes, see this!

Summary Review: Plods Along
A Vietnam veteran heads to an island
inhabited by cannibals to save a kidnapped model not only from her kidnappers, but also from the cannibals' lurking Devil god.
Devil Hunter gained notoriety for the fact that it's on the DPP 'Video Nasty' list, but it really
needn't have been. There isn't a lot here that warrants banning...which is a shame because I never would have sat through it where it not for the fact that it's on 'the shopping list'.
The plot actually gives the film a decent base -
or at least more of a decent base than most cannibal films - and it follows an actress who is kidnapped and dragged off into the Amazon jungle. A hunter is then hired to find her, but along the way he has to brave the natives, lead by a man who calls
himself The Devil (hence the title).
The film basically just plods along and there really aren't many scenes of interest. It's a real shame that Jess Franco ended up making films like this because the man clearly has talent;
but unfortunately his good films are just gems amongst heaps of crap and Devil Hunter is very much a part of the crap.

Besides the previously blocked out footage at the beginning (the opening scene which was covered by the opening credit cards in the late 1980s TWE video)
there's a lot of extra nude native dancing with Franco's telezoom exploring the exposed
genitalia of the black dancer and Ms Buchfeller.
There's even one shot, through the spread legs of native leader Claude Boisson revealing that he didn't wear any underwear beneath his native shirt.

The Devil Outside is a UK drama following a teenager torn between his religious upbringing and his worldly school friends. We sought assurances on the
age of two actors playing teenagers in a scene in which they approach a car and discover an adult couple having sex within it. When it became clear the actors were under 18, the distributor agreed to make cuts to moments within this scene where the young
actors and the simulated sexual activity occurred in the same shot. Adjudications under the POCA, in mainstream films, often turn on this question of a child occupying the same frame as activity that may be considered indecent.

villagers' sullen cooperation, but rumors and unrest begin to spread and soon the Spanish pirates find themselves facing a revolt.

The Devils is a 1971 UK drama by Ken Russell With Vanessa Redgrave and Oliver Reed.
Cut by Warner Brothers and the BBFC for X rated cinema release in 1971.
The BBFC X rating was overruled and banned by 17 local councils.
In the US the film was further cut for an R rating. The UK cinema version was later released in the US with an X rating and misleadingly labelled as a Director's Cut.
The best
available version, with some cuts restored, is held by Warner Brothers, but has never been released except for a screening at the 100 years of the BBFC cinema event.
Much to the irritation of genre fans Warner's are sitting on the Director's Cut and refuse to release it. The Director's Cut was shown at an event celebrating 100 years of the BBFC.

The film was first seen by the BBFC in an unfinished rough cut on 27 January 1971. At around the same time, this rough cut was also shown to senior executives from
Warner Brothers, the film's distributor. Both the BBFC and Warners expressed strong reservations about the strong religious and sexual context of the film, which seemed likely to provoke significant controversy. Warners and the BBFC therefore drew up
separate lists of the cuts they would require before the film could be distributed in the UK. Warners were content with their own plus the additional cuts requested by the BBFC and a full list of required changes was forwarded to the director.
The cuts were intended to reduce:
(i) the explicitness and duration of certain sexual elements, including an orgy of nuns
(ii) elements of violence and gore during an interrogation scene and the final burning of the
character played by Oliver Reed
(iii) scenes that mixed sexual activity and religion in a potentially inflammatory fashion.
A modified - but still technically unfinished - version of the film was seen again by the BBFC on 8 April 1971, incorporating many (but not all) of the cuts requested by both the BBFC and by Warners. Ken Russell had toned down or
removed what had been regarded as the most difficult scenes, including the entire Rape of Christ sequence in which a group of nuns cavort on a crucifix, whilst hoping that the significant reductions he had already made would perhaps allow certain
other shots to remain. The BBFC requested further reductions in four sequences. Russell responded by complying fully with three of the cuts but insisted that the fourth additional cut could not be made properly because it would create continuity
problems.
On 18 May 1971 the BBFC awarded an X certificate to the cut version of the film. Because of the scale of the changes made to the film (including the deletion of one entire scene) it is difficult to
calculate accurately how much was removed from the film between January and May 1971. However, it is safe to say that several minutes were removed.
The resultant version suffered cuts as follows:
A scene showing nuns assaulting an effigy of the cross was deleted (approximately 30s)

In Tunbridge Wells, the film was in the middle of its run when it was subject to pickets from local church bodies and, despite a
petition signed by 2,500 people in support of the film, the decision was made to cease screenings.
Glasgow magistrates banned the film in 1971 on grounds it offended good taste and public decency.
World: The film was banned at the time of
release in Finland, Italy, Ireland, Chile and New Zealand.
The Devil's Advocate is a 1997 mystery thriller by

After the film's initial release, sculptor Frederick Hart sued Warner Bros. claiming that a large sculpture prominently featured in the film (on the wall of Al Pacino's penthouse apartment) is an unauthorized copy of his work Ex
Nihilo , displayed at the entrance of Washington's Episcopal National Cathedral. According to a court settlement reached in February 1998, Warner has been authorized to release an initial run of 475,000 copies of the video of the film for rental, but
had to re-edit the film for further releases.
Warner digitally altered the statue for home video releases. The intricate artwork was replaced with a vague swirly substitute without the disputed detail.
The 2012 so
called Director's Cut simply tidies up a pan across the now swirly artwork. The original pan picked out interesting faces and figures. But when these were replaced by swirls, then the path of the pan made no sense. The Director's Cut replaces the pan
with another that just moves in a straight line across the swirls. The time taken is unchanged, presumably as this maintains soundtracks.

In France, the former Countess Moncorn comes to the Haussemont Castle posing of the medium Claire Grandier for a séance with her telepathic
friend and scientist Professor Gruber. They are welcomed by the Duke de Haussemont, who recognizes her. There is an interruption in the séance and the Duke invites Claire and Gruber to stay in his castle and offers his basement for the professor to
proceed in his experiments. However Claire has an agenda, since she holds a grudge against the Haussemont family that she blames that was responsible for the suicide of her beloved husband Phillippe to acquire his properties. Claire uses the Book of
Astarov associated to the ability and knowledge of Professor Gruber to reanimate a corpse controlled by Gruber seeking revenge against the responsible for the death of Phillippe. But her scheme gets out of control.
The two DVD editions were unfortunately shortened in two scenes. After Richard suspects the
death of Loretta, she appears a short time later as a zombie to call in sick. A little later the sex scene between Richard and his bed bunny Susan is much longer. Since body doubles were obviously used for this scene, which can either be seen in
half-light or intertwined, the voyeuristic viewer only gets a few insightful looks.
The Devil's Nightmare is a 1971 Belgium/Italy horror fantasy by Jean Brismée. With Erika Blanc, Jean Servais and Daniel Emilfork.

Summary Notes
Six of seven tourists in a east European castle overnight are victims of a helper of
the devil. Is Satan willing to spare their souls?
There is gratuitous nudity here and there, including a weird but very sexy succubus. But at other times the film does a great job of capturing the mood. It is scary and very
well-crafted and didn't need all the nudity to be worth seeing, even if many of the characters are one-dimensional and silly.

graphic scene when the She Devil creature devours the Nazi's colonel's head like an anaconda and you see all the sheer pain/terror on his face (deservedly!!!) plus the resulting blood spurt. Uncut on DVD I must add!
