The director's cut features around 20 minutes of extra and re-edited footage. Included are new and extended scenes between Rudy and Ashley discussing their situation when kidnapped by Gabriel.
Also included is an extended and more graphic version of the scene where Gabriel throws darts as Rudy, also a scene where he heals his wounds from the darts is included as well as an extended love scene.
Other
changes include the omission of Love Rollercoaster from the casino scene, which is replaced by a longer version with a much more suspense twist to it. Finally, another scene is extended where Gabriel shoots the ice around a fisherman sending him
into the freezing lake to die as opposed to the original version which merely hinted at his killing the man.

This is a gorgeous film, it is rich in content and thought, it has an old school story telling feel about it, fantastic music by "Goblin", it is shocking and suspenseful, whilst showing some glorious

Forerunner of Cannibal Ferox set in South
East Asian cannibal infested jungles. Tongue amputations are the order of the day after snacking on traditionally served monkey brains.
A photographer on assignment in the rain forest is ambushed and held slave by a primitive
tribe, until the chief's daughter chooses him as her groom. After being initiated by various tortures, he becomes a part of the tribe and helps them against modern dangers and a cannibal tribe they're at war with.
I
liked this one strictly for its exoticness. Me Me Lay looks great dressed or naked. She has a great face. I have the Prism edition video. That one is missing a brief cannibal scene that later showed up in Lenzi's Eaten Alive by the Cannibals . The
cinematography was well done and I may catch some heat for this but I actually liked the music.
The love scene in the river came very close to XXX. A well placed bush (no pun intended) kept it soft-core. Not much
gore, so jungle flick fans should like it. I know I did.

Summary Review: A Tad Slow Paced
When her husband John has a heart attack while out in a rowboat on the lake, Louise Haloran throws his body overboard and later tells the family that he has left on an urgent
business trip.
Dementia 13 was the result of producer Roger Corman's infamous apprentice program at AIP; Corman was shooting his own film and let Francis Ford Coppola get his first director's credit by shooting Dementia 13
on the same location.
Dementia 13 is a nice little low-budget horror film for which the biggest complaint is that the pace is a tad slow. The story is set in Ireland and if it bears a strong resemblance to Corman's film
adaptations of Edgar Allan Poe .
Dementia 13 is not a gory film, but more of a character study, which alone makes it somewhat atypical for the time and genre. Coppolla manages to create atmosphere so that the film is more
of a psychological exercise than it is a splatter flick.

v Demoniac
- 1979 Spanish/French horror by Jess Franco.
Demoniac is a 1979 Spanish/French horror by Jess Franco. With Lina Romay, Catherine Lafferière and Jesus Franco.
Banned by the BBFC from 1985 until 2003 when it was passed 18 after 2:25s of cuts. The BBFC cuts were waived for 2017 DVD. The film started out as Sexorcism/Exorcism and was significantly reworked reworked with new material to become
El Sadico de Notre-Dame. The legacy is that there are now multiple versions with different mixes of sex and violence including a hardcore version.
Summary Review : Good but Not Great
Exorcism is a good but not great film. Like so many of Franco's films EXORCISM is at once brilliant and amateurish.
Franco stars as a kinky priest who serves GOD by ridding the
world of sinners with his Sword of the Lord. His best moments are shared with his lover/partner Lina Romay. It's always interesting to watch the couple interact together especially during sadistic scenes.
Despite
it's strong scenes of violence EXORCISM is not a gory film. The bloodiest scenes involve the beheading of a pigeon and the removal of a woman's entrails. Franco claims (on the commentary track) that the pigeon is a special effect. I seriously doubt that
what Franco says is true.

The BBFC commented :
This was another shocker from the 70s, from a film-maker most of whose cinematic work appeared to revel in the tying up and abusing of naked women. Here their bodies
were liberally splashed with blood, stage blood, in rituals acted out as a turn-on for audiences in search of sexual arousal. Later each evening, we see the rituals re-enacted sadistically and homicidally by a criminal psychopath (played by the
film-maker himself), whose deeds perform the same function as the video viewer. The Board considered whether cuts could make such a work acceptable, but given its multifarious images of women stripped, inverted, bound, gagged, manacled at ankles and
wrists, with blood smeared on bodies, especially breasts, and with blades driven into flesh, we concluded that cuts would have been so extensive as to leave little of the misogynistic framework intact. This might have been no loss on artistic or social
grounds, but it would have left an unviable video commercially.
Twenty years ago Redemption Films
released Succubus and I received a written warning from the British Board of Film Classification, that Jess Franco was a director whose films the BBFC regarded as bordering on criminal. I was told that were I to attempt to release other films by him or
to bring them into the country there would be consequences... A year later I submitted Demoniacs and Sadomania and both were categorically banned with the implicit threat that by pushing the work of Jess Franco I was, indirectly, championing criminal
sexual material and that if I continued I too would face not civil, but criminal proceedings.
The BBFC said of DEMONIAC:
... The Board has never granted a BBFC certificate to any film or video which
seeks to encourage sexual sadism, and this film is clearly sadistic in that it seems 'to have no purpose or justification other than to reinforce or sell the idea that it can be highly pleasurable to inflict injury, pain or humiliation (often in a sexual
context) on others' (Home Office Report on Obscenity and Film Censorship, Williams, HMSO, 1979)....|
...The work of this particular film maker has often fallen well outside the parameters of BBFC standards because of the
manner in which it presents scenes of vicious sexual violence or of violence to women in a sexually arousing context, offering little pleasure to the viewer other than a conscious vicarious gratification of misogyny. Where such emotions focus on the
harming of others, the Board must always consider drawing a line, as we have in refusing a video certificate to DEMONIAC .
Redemption Films challenged the banning of these films, along with Bare Behind Bars legally, and lost.
We then sought and won leave to judicially review the BBFC's entire operation, a massive undertaking and one which would, had we pursued it, opened up all the machinations of the BBFC's internal workings to public scrutiny, however, we ran out of money
and had to wait until our battle over pornography several years later to finally oust the BBFC chairman James Ferman which in turn heralded in a period of more liberal censorship.
The Demoniacs is a 1973 French/Belgian horror by Jean Rollin. With Joëlle Coeur, Willy Braque and Paul Bisciglia.
Cut by the BBFC for 18 rated UK DVD releases. Later the Extended Version

Summary Review: Surreal, hypnotic, absorbing
Jean Rollin makes movies that perplex
movie viewers - his films are always poetically surreal, hypnotic, absorbing, enchanting and hallucinatory, and almost never have a coherent storyline. They are highly unconventional and appreciated by fans but hated by others
This films sees a gang of pirates rape the two sole survivors of a ship wreck. The violated girls are rescued by the strange inhabitants of a supposedly haunted island, where they are granted supernatural powers to strike revenge
against the pirates.

Banned by the BBFC for 1972 but the GLC awarded a local X rating for

a short US Version.
Summary Review : A decent effort
The UK DVD of the Demons by Redemption is 103 minute directors cut restored by Franco in 2003 and is longer than the previous
UK VHS release (which ran for less than 80 minutes). It is a decent effort not as good as some of Franco's earlier work but definitely better than the stuff he directed in the early 80's for Eurocine. Some scenes are in French without English subtitles!

subject to seizure, in return for that being the end of the matter and so avoiding an obscenity trial with the possibility of jail time.

Summary Review: Goes straight for the jugular,
A group of people are trapped in a large West Berlin movie theater infected by ravenous demons whom proceed to kill and posses the humans
one-by-one thereby multiplying their numbers.
Demons is cited on the commentary that accompanies this DVD as being one of the most important Italian horror films of the 80's, and indeed it is. Bypassing the flabby,
overcooked acting, unevenly distributed action and horrendous scores of many a Euro-horror, Demons goes straight for the jugular, eyeballs, guts and groin. This film is certainly one of the best paced non-American horror flicks of the decade and contains
a level of lovingly crafted, sickeningly visceral gore which just wouldn't happen these days.
For a European film the acting isn't actually too bad and the set is very effective. This film of course has bad
points. Loads of them, but as is sometimes the case with these trashy horrors, the bad bits are so bad that they end up enhancing the enjoyment of the picture. I love It.

Lush looking and
