In this sequel of the first Jack Frost movie, Sheriff Sam Tiler, his wife Anne, and Sam's two deputies (also husband and wife) decide to go on a Caribbean vacation to take
their minds off the traumatic events of the previous movie in a place with absolutely no snow. Their holiday will be short-lived, however, as the thawed murderer gets inadvertantly re-frozen and brought back to life. As if that weren't bad enough, he now
has the ability to remain frozen even in tropical temperatures, and he's headed south to settle some old scores.
This movie was never intended to be a horror/scary movie. The filmmakers CLEARLY meant for it to be a campy,
funny film, with a lot of humorous deaths along the way. If you watch it with that in mind - NOT expecting anything truly scary - but just a disposable, kill-90-minutes-on-a-Saturday-afternoon movie.
The production values
are nil, and the acting and script are unquestionably sub-par, but on that one certain level - that very specific level I mentioned previously - this movie actually has some funny scenes.

The deadly snowball fight is more gruesome. Tons of Blood splatters out from a man's arm onto a woman right after it's ripped off by the snowball. Also, there are shots of people getting gutted and killed by flying icicles and
snow balls, with lots of blood everywhere. The VHS version cuts out before anybody is hit by the icicles or dies.
There is nudity in the scene where the woman jumps into the pool naked.
More gore in the scene where the three girls are killed by the beachside when Jack first comes onto the island.
Profanity is in in this version (barely any in the VHS).
More gore to practically every other murder in the movie. The DVD version also has a higher body count because the VHS cuts a lot of deaths out.
The 12A theatrical classification of Jack
Reacher generated the most feedback in 2013, with a total of 26 complaints. Despite a number of reductions made to scenes of violence to achieve a 12A certificate, those who contacted us considered the film too violent, dark and sadistic for
twelve-year-olds, and inappropriately presented the hero as a vigilante figure.
The film is occasionally gritty and realistic, but the overall tone and treatment of the violence is similar to recent 12A action films such as the
Bourne series and does not exceed the Guidelines at 12A. The film is relatively restrained in showing injury or blood, with no undue focus on the suffering of the victims and the Jack Reacher character is quickly established as an 'anti-hero'.

OK, so this movie is a typical Roger Corman production with the usual Roger Corman production values. That makes it, of course, a really

Tommy Lee Jones was perfectly cast in Jackson County Jail. Yvette Mimieux is as sexy as she has ever been. And, her performance is Grade A.
This movie has a large cult following for various reasons. And, even though it's not the best of it's genre, it is a film worth the price.

Jailer is one of the year's biggest South Asian films. The Tamil blockbuster was very heavily cut by
7-10 minutes for a BBFC 12A cinema rating.
The release of this film has been a real debacle. The distributor left it incredibly late to cut for 12A, so the BBFC were still watching various trial cut versions 24 hours before it was supposed to be
playing in cinemas.
The film ended up being classified four times - Tamil uncut (15), Telugu cut (15, failed to get the desired 12A), Hindi cut (15, again a failed attempt at a 12A) and finally Tamil cut (12A).
Based on the running times
the cut 12A version is missing around 6/7 mins. The uncut version, or maybe one of the cut 15s, was sent out to cinemas while the cut 12A was prepared, however none of these had been formally classified at the time so the first screenings on opening day
had to be cancelled.
There were photos and videos on Twitter showing disgruntled audiences, some of whom had already taken their seats, being told to leave by cinema staff. At least one screening was stopped mid-film. This has to be the most
mishandled release I've ever seen, by quite some margin.

Summary Review : Change of Direction
The secret of Jason's evil is revealed. It is up to the last remaining descendant of the Voorhees family to stop
Jason before he becomes immortal and unstoppable.
A completely different direction for the series. Jason, himself, appears for about ten or fifteen minutes throughout, leaving the remaining time to focus on the mythology that
surrounds him.
While it is a refreshing change to see Friday the 13th take a different step, it all seems a bit too much like a Halloween rip off. Friday the 13th is a franchise with strict rules and while it's always a pleasure
to bend rules slightly, when you break them into smithereens you are usually left with a mess. This is what Jason Goes to Hell is like.
Part 9 isn't great but if you are a fan of the genre you'll watch it anyway.

Summary Review: strong visual style
Tommy goes to a graveyard to get rid of Jason's body, but he accidentally brings him back to life. Jason wants revenge! Tommy must defeat
Jason once and for all!
While writer/director Tom McLoughlin's script is witty and self-deprecating in tone, and some of the jokes are pretty good, it is nonetheless more of the same. However McLoughlin does give this series entry
a strong visual style - something almost all the others lack - Jason standing atop a crashed motor home being a good example. This is one well worth seeing, both for fans and non-fans alike. Recommended.

The two camp counsellors in the car's deaths were also trimmed: The part where the woman is speared in the water originally showed a close-up shot of blood coming to the surface of the water with the air
bubbles. The man was speared, lifted into the air, and then slid down the spear, leaving his insides on it.
Jason shoved the broken bottle into the caretaker's neck and he falls to the ground as the camera gets a close-up of the blood coming out
of the bottle.
Cort's death originally was not as quick-cut and you could actually see the knife going into his head before he falls over.
The wall-to-wall blood cabin originally had a lot more blood and guts in it. There were shots of
livers and hearts running down the walls, but it was all thought too graphic to have in the film.
The backbreaking sheriff's scene had more to it. There were more screams, more bone crushing, and his legs began to kick.
A scene at the
very end was cut. In it, a red-haired Elias Voorhees walked to his son's grave. Knowing he wasn't in the casket, Elias gives the camera a wicked glare.
Sissy's death was toned down. Originally, you could see her head torn off and dropped.
I'm hoping someone will come across a film vault one day and see a reel for some movie like Flashdance, put it in, and realize it's all Jason kill footage. I found a VHS tape years later containing
footage I know was cut from the movie. The MPAA fucked my film, as they did most of the Friday movies. We sent our film back to the MPAA 9 times before they finally approved it. Paramount just wanted to get it out and said to keep trimming to avoid an X
rating.

Summary Review: Outlandish
Jason Voorhees returns with a new look, a new machete, and his same murderous attitude as he is awakened on a spaceship in the 25th century.
Despite the massive shift in setting the films seems to have been well received by those that have enjoyed the more tongue in cheek style of the latter Friday the 13th films.
A reasonably high budget and decent characters amongst Jason's victims seem to have helped.

It's a hot summer on Amity Island, a
small community whose main business is its beaches. When new Sheriff Martin Brody discovers the remains of a shark attack victim, his first inclination is to close the beaches to swimmers. This doesn't sit well with Mayor Larry Vaughn and several of the
local businessmen. Brody backs down to his regret as that weekend a young boy is killed by the predator. The dead boy's mother puts out a bounty on the shark and Amity is soon swamped with amateur hunters and fisherman hoping to cash in on the reward. A
local fisherman with much experience hunting sharks, Quint, offers to hunt down the creature for a hefty fee. Soon Quint, Brody and Matt Hooper from the Oceanographic Institute are at sea hunting the Great White shark. As Brody succinctly surmises after
their first encounter with the creature, they're going to need a bigger boat.

the garbage truck driver Krassky, although her sleazy boss Boris warns her that he's gay. Maybe because of her boyish looks, Krassky likes her too. Both don't notice the growing jealousy of Krassky's boyfriend Padovan - until an escalation.
I went in with high hopes and wasn't disappointed. People familiar with Gainsbourg's body of work will know to expect to unexpected, what with his love for the surreal, bizarre and perverted.
The sex
scenes are genuinely uncomfortable, but the two stunningly beautiful leads are perfect for this twisted love story.

The contentious scene seems to be a young Joan witnessing the brutal stabbing and rape of her sister by soldiers. In 1999 the age rating was based on the violence and explicitness
of the scene, but by 2020, BBFC policy had been changed and the rating was based more on sending messages about increased societal concern about sexual violence. This resulted in the film being uprated to 18 for 2020 video release.
The film was originally classified for cinema release in
1999, and on video in 2000. On both occasions the film was rated 15 uncut. The Board considered whether in 2020 the 15 classification was reasonable and defensible or whether 18 was more appropriate on the basis of a sequence in which a woman is raped
and murdered. The Board agreed that under the 2019 Classification Guidelines, which acknowlege heightened public concerns about the issue of sexual violence, the film was no longer reasonable or defensible at 15. The BBFC's Guidelines state that any
depiction of the stronger forms of sexual violence, including rape, must not be detailed or prolonged and that a strong and sustained focus on sexual threat is unacceptable. The Board noted that the scene features an emphasis on the victim's distress and
powerlessness in anticipation of the rape, and that the act itself is aggravated by a gang dynamic, sadistic violence as the woman is impaled on a door, and the presence of a child observing the violence. The Board unanimously agreed that the film
requires an 18 classification under current guidelines. It now carries the Ratings Info strong bloody violence, sexual violence.

While speaking at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, Joker director Todd Phillips
explained that there were a few scenes that he had to cut, the most notable of which was a scene had Joaquin Phoenix's Arthur Fleck doing something bizarre while inside a bathtub. He spoke in vague terms at the Santa Barbara film festival:
So the other thing that's great about Joaquin is that he's always up to try things -- the fridge was one of those. It wasn't in the script it was something that Joaquin just kind of did and there was a few others, there's
only one other that's in the movie and it's when he's laughing after he goes to [Zazie Beetz's] apartment and he comes back down the hall and he's laughing alone in that living room, that was another one...
There were two or three
others we shot, one that is amazing in a bathtub, but I don't think we can actually include it in an R-rated movie and it's not because it was pornographic, it was just insane.
Complaints to the BBFC
The Joker was noted by the BBFC as the most complained about film of 2019. 20 people wrote to the BBFC saying that the 15 rated film should have been 18 rated or even banned. The BBFC responded:

are scenes of strong violence in the film that include stabbings and shootings, with accompanying bloody injury detail. They do not, however, dwell on the infliction of pain or injury in a manner that requires an 18.

that showed the poverty of your imagination.
Director Chris Goode, who has adapted the script for its stage premiere, said the lines were in the original film to show how punks deliberately wanted to shock society and smash taboos. He initially
resisted requests to take out the reference to Hindley but was 'convinced' to do so by a member of the senior artistic leadership of the Royal Exchange.

by comparing them side-by-side, I was able to find out what was cut by the BBFC.
The cut footage lasting 12 seconds can be seen between
17:09 and 17:21 in the uncut version, showing Ilsa
punching Hershey, Diane Lane talking about her headbutt, and the headbutting scene itself.
The BBFC version cuts to Joan Chen being interviewed right after Ilsa draws her hand back to punch Hershey (the punch itself isn't shown).
