Boarding House is a 1982 USA comedy horror by John Wintergate (as Johnn Wintergate). Starring John Wintergate, Kalassu and Lindsay Freeman.
Noted as the first horror film shot on video. The original video release from 1982 was a spoof comedy horror. This version was rejected by the BBFC for 1983 UK VHS release. The video was re-edited to create a more serious horror for
an MPAA R rated Theatrical Version. An alternative version was created in 1984 titled Psycho Killer. A much longer fan based creation from 2013 has been labelled the Director's Cut Summary Notes Resembling a cross between "The Amityville Horror" and a Playboy Playmates video, this film tells the terrifying tale of a cheesy video special effect that stalks bikini-clad women. In between scenes of them playfully splashing each other and wrestling with each other's bathing suit tops, they're murdered and/or terrorized by horrific hallucinations. These hallucinations include seeing blood in the shower stalls (while they're trying to lather up), having giant monsters jump out of the hall closet, and seeing their faces temporarily turn into rubber halloween masks.

Body Double is a 1984 USA mystery thriller by Brian De Palma. Starring Craig
Wasson, Melanie Griffith and Gregg Henry.
Passed 18 uncut for 1984 cinema release but was cut by the BBFC for the follow up 18 rated vHS releases. Later uncut on DVD from 2000. Uncut and MPAA R rated in the US. Summary Review: Strange little film
This is quite a strange little film. Jake (Wasson) is a claustrophobic, B-Movie actor who has just been fired from his latest film when a friend invites him to look after an apartment for a few days. While there, Jake
becomes a voyeur of a scantily - clad woman who performs some erotic dance routine nightly, on the dot. Jake unwittingly becomes a stalker, not just of the mystery woman, but of her other stalker! Inevitably, Jake witnesses her murder.
The majority of this movie is fantastically directed, the scenes on set of the low budget vampire flick, the battle at the end (and the excellent cross-over to the said vampire film) and the surreal music video within a film
featuring Frankie Goes to Hollywood on a porn set, this is quite an experience. Craig Wasson is incredible in this film. He fits the role perfectly, an amazing, shamefully underused actor. It's definitely worth getting
hold of this movie, just be wary of the cringe-worthy moments. Versions

IMDb : Worth Watching As one starts watching this movie, one thinks at first that it is a routine TV quality movie. It appeared at first to be a rip off of
the theme from Madonna's Body of Evidence . Both movies rely on the sexuality of the female stars. I for one am glad that I watched this movie. Shannon Whirry's sexuality makes this mediocre movie worth watching.
One scene in particular where she is recounting a tale to the psychiatrist while simultaneously teasing him by stripping and doing body gymnastics literally under his nose is unforgettable. She alone makes this worth watching.
The other characters in this movie are memorable only to the extent that they are reacting to the hot sexual aura put out by Shannon Whirry. At least for males this is a much better than average movie. |

banned as a video nasty. Cut by the BBFC for 1982 VHS. Uncut for 2000 DVD and an extended version released on DVD in 2004. Uncut and MPAA R rated in the US. Summery Review: One of the better nasties
Through the reflection in the mirror, a girl witnesses her mother's boyfriend's murder. I was surprised that this movie got such a low rating, to me it's one of the better horror films I've seen
in some time. Ulli Lommel allows the horror in this story to gradually build until it erupts in very frightening and disturbing and occasionally blackly comic ways. The boogeyman's appearances in the film are
effectively kept very brief, he doesn't become a silly character of the Freddy/Jason mould. Ulli Lommel keeps the location barren and banal and uses them in inventive ways. The scenes in which the disturbed deaf brother paints over every mirror in the
house is brilliant and foreshadows a lot of scenes in clean-shaven. Versions

Bogeyman 2 is a 1983 USA horror by Bruce Pearn and Ulli Lommel. With Suzanna Love, Ulli Lommel and Shannah Hall.
Lame sequel that re-uses most of the first film. It was banned as a video nasty under the title Revenge of the Bogeyman. The film was later released in a Director's
Cut/Redux version, but this was no better then the first time round, and was possibly worse. Uncut and MPAA R rated in the US, Summary Review: Re-hash The Boogeyman is a minor 80's classic. The
story is pure hokum, but the film is full of absurdly grotesque murder sequences and extreme gore. Ulli Lommel and his buddies must have been so proud on their accomplishment that they decided to re-use all the best footage to fill up almost three
quarters of the sequel. Boogeyman II is stuffed like a Christmas turkey with key footage of the original, and that's the main reason why it receives so many negative reviews around here. Boogeyman
II is 50 minutes of stock footage and 25 minutes of non-stop new murders. The new massacres are very lame in comparison with those of the original, though. Death by electric toothbrush and suffocation in shaving gel, for example. The film still got
included in the infamous list of video nasties, but only because of the stock footage of the original and not because of the ridiculous new murder set pieces.

v The Boxer's Omen
- 1983 Hong Kong horror by Chih-Hung Kuei
The Boxer's Omen is a 1983 Hong Kong horror by Chih-Hung Kuei Starring Phillip Ko, Shao-Yen Lin and Kar-Man Wai
Cut by the BBFC for 18 rated cinema release in 1984. Uncut and 15 rated for 2022 Blu-ray. Summary Notes
While in Thailand to avenge his brother who was crippled in a fight with a corrupt Thai boxer, a man gets caught up in a web of fate, Buddhism and black magic. The Boxer's Omen is a phantasmagoria of
grossness, questionable special effects, gawdy visuals and Buddhism that is so exuberantly bizarre I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. Part of the movie is a kickboxing revenge story, which is the only part of
The Boxer's Omen that isn't insane, but the rest of it deals with the wildly hallucinatory conflict between Buddhists and practitioners of the dark arts. Versions

v Boy Meets Girl
- 1994 UK drama by Ray Brady.
Boy Meets Girl is a 1994 UK drama by Ray Brady. With Tim Poole,
Danielle Sanderson and Margot Steinberg.
Passed 18 for 1995 cinema release but was banned by the BBFC for the follow up VHS. Passed 18 uncut for 2001 DVD. Uncut and MPAA Unrated in the US.
From Dark Star magazine: Banned Boy Meets Girl is a bold and important film. It is full of subtle and controversial arguments. To dismiss it because of
its bondage/sadistic trappings (as some have already done) is to miss the point entirely. How else could the director have approached the subject matter? Possibly as a documentary, but then that would loose the frisson of making the viewer an active
participant in the debate. It is a film of violent ideas but it is not a barrage of graphic images. The BBFC has passed countless numbers of films more violent than Boy Meets
Girl, yet refused to give it a certificate. As the director of the BBFC, James Ferman must take the responsibility for denying you, the public, the chance to see a film which, for once, has a totally violent subject matter but does not glamorise it.
Which is more than can be said of so many Hollywood studio pictures Mr Ferman has gladly issued certificates. Explicit violence has always been a contentious issue in cinema, but never, in a so-called democracy, should honesty about violence be treated
like the glorification of violence. Shame on you Mr Ferman. For all its minor faults (most often due to the low budget) a film like Boy Meets Girl does not deserve to be treated in the manner it has been in Britain.

Director James Ferman explained in a letter to Brady: This video focuses unrelentingly on the process of torture, mental as well as physical, including mutilation, sexual violation and evisceration, all in full view of the
camera. Ferman's letter continues tha the film-maker has refused to provide a coherent moral justification or context , therefore there is the risk of confirming sadistic tastes or reinforcing sadistic impulses , and this, says
Ferman in a reference to the Criminal Justice Act, is crucial to any consideration of harm to potential viewers or, through their behaviour to society.

Boychoir - 2014 USA drama by François Girard.
Boychoir is a 2014 USA drama by François Girard. Starring Dustin Hoffman and Kathy Bates and Debra Winger. There have been reports of a version including the word 'motherfucker' but this is not confirmed and is not apparent from
any certifications received to date. Eg in the UK the film was passed PG uncut for mild violence, mild bad language. However the film was initially rated M (PG-15) rated in Australia but was later downrated to PG on appeal. The reasons cited were that
the violence and themes were sufficiently mild for a PG. No mention of strong language.
