Summary Review: You Won't Regret It
Army of Darkness starts where Evil Dead 2 left off. Ashley has now gone back in time to the mid-evil times where he has to find a way back to
his time. But the people he has met through this time think that he is the one who will save them all from the evil dead. They promise to help him find a way back if he saves them. Along that journey, he meets a beautiful peasant girl, Sheila, and they
have a romantic affair. Along his journey to save the people, he must retrieve the "Book of the Dead", but when he slurs the words and does a half assed job of it, the book rises an evil twin of Ash's and leads his Army of Darkness to destroy
the village Ash has promised to save.
This movie has great laughs and is a great end to this terrific trilogy. You won't regret seeing it, trust me.

Review from
UK Amazon : Unconventional gangster movie
As tears go by
is an interesting and cinematographically beautiful film set in Mongkok, a district in Hong Kong. This movie is directed by Won Kar Wai, an artist that can take a premise and develop it so well that the story he tells turns into reality. In this
case, that premise is how to tell the story of a person without a future, of someone that believes that People like us don't have tomorrows .
The main character of As tears go by is Wah (Andy Lau), a
well-known Hong Kong mobster that leads a very dangerous life. He is respected and feared, and has only two objectives in life: to stay alive and to take care of his family. That last objective is a little difficult in what concerns to his younger
brother Fly (Jackie Cheung), a young man that wants to belong to a triad, but doesn't have what it takes to be respected in a violent environment.
From my point of view, this unconventional gangster movie is worth your
time.

screaming in pain, after the impact.
The scene where Tony beats Wah with a baseball bat is missing the blows to the shoulder, body and then repeated blows

As far as I remember, my UK "Made in Hongkong"-VHS Video suffered one more cut, when Andy Lau presses Maggie Cheung against the Wall while they were standing on the stairs. There was a
small "jump" in this scene, missing when he touches/hits (?) her face. The Hongkong DVD did not have that "jump". It's only a second or so, so you may miss this moment easily...

Summary Review: Forgotten Gem
One Swedish Summer (which was the US title) is a forgotten gem from the
days when skilled directors were at the helm of exploitation films, and while a fascinating viewing experience, it also serves to demonstrate just how thoughtless and pedestrian these kinds of films have become lately.
A handsome
young male classical violinist experiences his sexual awakening one summer in the middle of teh Swedish nowhere.
One Swedish Summer boasts beautiful location photography as well as exquisitely beautiful music on the
soundtrack, a combination of classical baroque and late 60's Europop. This is contrasted with close-up shots of female pubic regions, full-frontal male nudity, and several brushes with themes of voyeurism and sadomasochism.

The distributors cut a joke about Princess Di as the 1997 cinema release was on the week of her death.
When Dr Evil comes up with his ransom plans his first
one is to ask for a sum of $1 million dollars otherwise he will tell the world that Prince Charles is having an affair and expose it to the world. Robert Wagner's character then informs him that this has already happened, at which point he says that he
should be kept informed of these things as he has been frozen for a period of time.
See article
from dailymail.co.uk . The Daily Mail has been perusing new only opened files at the BBFC and come u with a colourful examiner's report about Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. The examiner wrote:
O
dear, this really has to qualify as the worst new film for theatrical release.
I am not acquainted with Mr Mike Myers -- the star and writer of this product -- and cannot fathom how he can have been given this showcase for his
talent.
It really is embarrassingly unfunny. The film is a spoof on a Bond movie but is so crass and asinine that one cannot even begin to warm to it. It really is embarrassingly unfunny. The film is a spoof on a Bond movie but is
so crass and asinine that one cannot even begin to warm to it.
The report went on to say that the movie had an aggressive edge and commented on its tacky and lavatorial humour. The examiner then launched a waspish tirade against some
of the stars involved before concluding that the film was fit only for undiscerning teenagers.
The writer said the use of the word 'fuck' and repetition of terms such as 'shit' and 'shag' set the tone of the whole piece, crude, distasteful and
unredeemed by intelligence, irony or wit.
But Myers had the last laugh, the film on a budget of just £12million took £50million at the international box office and combined with its two sequels, it brought in a total of £500million+.
A spokesman
for the BBFC accepted the comments were more colourful then normal.

From Shock Till You Drop.Co-writer/director Adam Gierasch said:
It took five submissions to get an R rating for the movie, he says like a proud father
enthusing over his rebellious offspring. The scene that riled up up the MPAA board involved one of the leads in an unsettling predicament involving a drill and an oxygen tank. We wound up having to cut almost forty seconds out of that scene. First we
just did some trimming and they were like, 'No.' Then we cut a little bit more, and they said, 'No.'
Gierasch assures us an unrated director's cut of Autopsy will ultimately be released.
v Avatar
- 2009 action adventure by James Cameron.
The
Extended Edition is based upon the Special Edition and is nearly completely identical to it - except for the opening of the film. Initially, Avatar was to start on Earth. In the end, Cameron removed these scenes, because they would needlessly
delay the plot. They are restored here more as a DVD Extra than anything adding to the film.
James Cameron has re-inserted the Na'vi lovemaking scene. Cameron explained that he removed the scene for the initial theatrical run after getting a negative reaction from test audiences: I always felt that it was a good moment, so I wanted to put
it back in,
Cameron described the lovemaking scene between Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana noting that it lasts all of about 20 seconds . It's been restored, every last frame of it. Seriously. I would say, just so that we correctly
manage people's expectations, it does not change our rating at all. I would call it more of an alien foreplay scene. It's not like they're ripping their clothes off and going at it.

The Avengers is a 2012 USA action sci-fi by Joss Whedon. With Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson.
The film was cut in the US to avoid an MPAA R rating. The cuts were to the
stabbing death of Agent Coulson, presumably the death was extensively cut than just the sight of the protruding blade.
There are 2 versions available worldwide, one omits the sight of the spear protruding from a man's chest as he is stabbed through
his back. The UK cinema release was uncut but the DVD was the cut version. It turns out the cut version took a couple of attempts to get the stabbing approved by the MPAA.

The BBFC confirmed that it had passed the Original Version of the stabbing at 12A/12. The BBFC wrote:
A slightly stronger moment occurs when a man is stabbed through the back by the chief villain's spear. The detail
of the impact is not shown, only the tip of the spear protruding from the man's chest with a small amount of blood on it. The image is not dwelt upon and serves an important narrative purpose. The BBFC's Guidelines at 12A'/'12 state Moderate
violence is allowed but should not dwell on detail. There should be no emphasis on injuries or blood, but occasional gory moments may be permitted if justified by the context .
US: The Protruding Spear Version is MPAA
PG-13 rated for:
When we submitted The Avengers, the first couple cuts of it came back from the MPAA rated R. That happened twice. So we went back and had to make adjustments. Well, whenever you impale somebody from their
back and the blade comes out their chest, there are issues.

The Awakening of Emily is a 1976 USA adult film by
Starring Holly McCall, Stephanie Bonds and Herschel Savage.
Banned by the BBFC for a 1983 cinema release.
Summary Notes
One of Holly McCall's greatest
performances came in 1976's The Awakening Of Emily, in which she starred as a virginal young teacher who was introduced to the wanton wonders of sex
This is a very serious and devastating drama, based on true events that took place early in 17th Century in Italy and emphasizing
on the hypocrisy and abuse of power of the Catholic Church.
The story is incredibly convoluted and often difficult to follow, but at the same time truly fascinating and the recreation of time & era are brilliant.
For as far as I remember the stuff my high-school history teacher attempted to tell me, the political background of this film is accurate to the tiniest detail. It's also a very well made film, especially considering the
low production values! The cinematography and decors are extremely stylish and the film also benefits from a splendid Ennio Morricone score.
The acting is great with Antonio Sabato ( Seven Blood-Stained Orchids )
and Anne Heywood ( What Waits Below ) bringing an amazing and plausible chemistry on screen. A beautiful movie, but certainly not for all tastes.

Cut by the BBFC for 1982 cinema release and 1999 VHS. Banned as a video
nasty in 1984. The BBFC waived their cuts for 2005 DVD. Uncut in the US
Summary Review: Classic of its kind
A gang of three murderers escape the police, terrorize a
salesgirl in a roadside grocery store, then proceed to hide-out in a seemingly deserted farmhouse. They soon discover that a young girl, Lisa, and her paralyzed grandfather live there. The gang attempt some sleazy deeds, but Lisa shows how she can work
an axe in self defence.
Even though this movie is EXTREMELY low-budget and is only around 60 minutes long, it is still another example of how a low-budget can help a movie. The acting isn't always the best, but Leslie Lee is considerably creepy
as Lisa the axe murderess.
The movie doesn't really go anywhere, but it is a classic of its kind.
