The BBFC commented:
- This film was originally seen for advice. The company was advised the film was likely to be classified 18 but that their preferred 15 could be achieved by reducing the number of uses of very strong language. When the film was
submitted for formal classification, the number of uses of very strong language had been reduced and it was classified 15.
The BBFC further commented in its 2015 Annual Report: When originally shown to the BBFC for advice, the film contained fourteen uses of very strong language, some of which were aggravated by aggression or violence. The
BBFC's Guidelines at 15 state Very strong language may be permitted, depending on the manner in which it is used, who is using the language, its frequency within the work as a whole and any special contextual justification'. This means that it is
unusual to permit more than a handful of uses of very strong language in a submission of normal feature length at 15. In order to achieve its preferred 15 rating, the BBFC advised the distributor to reduce the number of uses of
very strong language, in particular addressing the more aggravated uses. When the film was submitted for formal classification, the number of uses were approximately halved and the uses accompanied by violence or other aggravating
factors, including one use directed towards a child, were no longer present. The remaining uses, which are mainly self-directed within the central character's head, were acceptable at 15 in this particular context.

Cut by the BBFC for cinema and VHS. Uncut in Europe and the US
Summary Notes From notorious Italian exploitation filmmaker Rino Di Silvestro (Deported Women of the SS Special Section) comes Werewolf Woman, a psychological, psychosexual, pseudo-shapeshiter shocker and a favorite
of director Quentin Tarantino. In it, a mentally unstable young woman named Daniela (Annik Borel) fantasizes that she is the reincarnation of her long-dead ancestor, a woman who was thought to have been a werewolf. Dealing with her lifetime of sexual
abuse, she seduces men before transgressing into a feral monster, screaming, cursing and ripping them to shreds. When she meets the man of her dreams, Daniela seems ready to forgive her past and bury the beast within until another traumatic encounter
seals both her own fate and the collective fates of the Werewolf Woman's wild wrath. A strange, erotic, outrageously sleazy and provocative Eurohorror classic about a woman pushed well-past the edge of sanity, Werewolf Woman is finally presented here
with the respect it deserves, in beautifully realized, remastered high-definition. Watch it with someone you trust. Selected by Quentin Tarantino for the First Quentin Tarantino Film Fest in Austin, Texas, 1996. He loved it so
much that all subsequent Quentin Tarantino Film Fests had a surprise movie added to the end of each all-nighter known as the Wolf Woman selection, defined as an outrageous exploitation film sure to wake the audience up. This wildly exploitive Italian gem features a luscious blonde lead experiencing lycanthropic spasms flagrante delicto, making a bloody mess of the men she naturally attracts until she finds true love in the arms of a gentle beefcake stuntman. Sleazy fun; even the bland expository scenes offer some hilariously inane dialogue.

v Where to Invade Next - 2015 USA documentary by Michael Moore.
Where to Invade Next is a 2015 USA documentary by Michael Moore.
Rated R for language, some violent images, drug use and brief graphic nudity, Controversy See
article from alternet.org Michael Moore is non to impressed by the MPAA R rating given to his latest
documentary. Moore spoke of the R rating to Variety: Moore listed the parts of the film that prompted the MPAA's ruling. The violence in the picture includes footage of law enforcement officers beating Eric Garner, a
Staten Island man whose death last year helped spark a wider debate about police brutality. The drug use is related to a section in the film on Portugal's decision to decriminalize narcotics -- a move that some suggest has led to
a reduction in substance abuse. The language stems from the use of 'fuck' by Icelandic citizens protesting the 2009 collapse of their banks. And the nudity is a fleeting image of a naked man. That's
from a vignette that shows how some Europeans are able to enjoy three weeks at a spa to treat stress thanks to government-backed healthcare.
Moore said he will not edit the film, and has appealed to have the rating lowered to a PG-13.
The appeal was rejected in December 2015 and the R rating stands. However not everyone agrees with the MPAA R rating. Cinema chain Alamo Drafthouse, with cinemas in 13 states, decided to relax its R-rating policy for the film in February
2016. CEO Tim League said in a statement that the company can't believe the film was ever rated R in the first place: For the first time ever, we are relaxing our 18-and-up age policy for one film. Why? We simply don't
believe Where to Invade Next should have received an R rating from the MPAA. We don't want that rating and our own age policies to get in the way of teens and their parents seeing this film. So, for the run of the Where to Invade Next we will allow teens
age 15 and up on their own...yes, it's that important.
And for comparison, in the UK, the BBFC passed the film 15 uncut for strong language, violence, drug references

dailymail.co.uk : Few countries can compete with the UK when it comes to television costume dramas . . . but American audiences, it seems, prefer
our dramas without the costumes. A raunchy alternative version of the ten-part BBC1 series The White Queen has been created for screening in the US -- including graphic sex and nude scenes which don't appear here.
Bedroom scenes in which actors appear in the BBC version partly clothed are sexed-up for the American market -- and the actors complete the scenes naked. As lead actor Max Irons put it: There's the BBC cut
and the Starz cut. You get a lot more arse in the Starz version -- the cameras kept rolling after the BBC stopped the scene. Eg, in episode two Queen Elizabeth, played by Rebecca Fergusson, was seen wearing a nightdress for
her love scene with Edward IV, played by Max Irons. But when the clinch is broadcast on American television later this summer, the same actress will be shown first topless and then completely naked in the marital bed. Episodes
one, two and three of the American version all contain nudity and the first programme includes at least four shots of the Queen's breasts and a scene showing her younger sister topless in a bath. By contrast, the BBC version doesn't include any nudity
until episode three, and even then only fleetingly.

From IMDb. The following animator jokes were deleted from DVD releases and beyond:
Originally when Baby Herman storms off the set and puts his hand up a woman's dress, the middle finger of his hand is clearly extended. The original film had a gag frame of Betty Boop where her dress was drawn too low in the
front, revealing her nipples. When Jessica Rabbit and Eddie are thrown out of the cab there are a few frames where Jessica's underwear is visible, but the coloring is sometimes close to that of her legs, so that it has been
mistakenly assumed that she is not wearing any underwear. This was first altered so that she is more clearly wearing white panties. It was then altered again, so that now, her dress covers her entirely.

shooting Wicked World in 1990. A crude rough edit of the feature film was edited. Gillis was never happy with the rough cut of the film, which had gaps in the sound, and he just felt that the film was not up to par with what it could, or should be. So he
put all of the footage into storage for many years until he had the money to properly complete post production. The film haunted him on various levels, and he wasn't sure when he would be truly ready to finish and release it.

v Wide Open
Wide Open Versions

Unrated | 97:45s
| 1974 Sweden sex comedy by Gustav Wiklund. With Kent-Arne Dahlgren, Solveig Andersson and Gunilla
Larsson.
Passed 18 uncut for:
- 2009 Revelation R2 DVD titled Swedish Erotica Collection 2 at UK Amazon
The BBFC noted in the 2009 Annual Report: Collection 2, Swedish Erotica, a compilation of three early 1970s films from Sweden (Wide Open, Love Play and More About the Language of Love) was passed 18 without cuts. The
work, which includes explicit images of sexual activity, is now very dated. By contemporary standards it is clearly not a sex work, but rather a genuine attempt to inform and educate, and the Board concluded that there was sufficient contextual
justification to allow these scenes at 18 . The US release is uncut and MPAA Unrated for:
Summary Review: Christina Lindberg's last movie Fans of 70's Swedish sex kitten Christina Lindberg may wish to check out this film which is billed as Ms Lindberg's last movie appearance.
Wide Open is actually not all that great a flick, nor does one get as much of Christina as might be wished for, and is implied by her prominent appearance on the box cover art! Lindberg had just returned from making big bucks on a Japanese movie
deal and her, newly, inflated fees only allowed Wicklund to hire her for two days of shooting... thus her presence in Wide Open is relatively minimal. Still her time on screen is used to good advantage as she is pretty much gloriously naked throughout in
scenes as diverse as a porno photo shoot to nude vacuum cleaning in her boyfriend's apartment. The overall filmic experience of Wide Open is pretty uneven. The director was apparently attempting to create a blend of
sexiness and criminal intrigue with a light comedic overtone. From my perspective he didn't do a very good job of merging the genres. If you are a die hard fan of Lindberg, Wide Open may be worth a look. |

- 2016 Germany drama by Nicolette Krebitz.
Wild is a 2016 Germany drama by Nicolette Krebitz. Starring Lilith Stangenberg and Georg
Friedrich and Nelson.
Not submitted to the BBFC but it is available online on MUBI and Amazon Prime with a self applied 16+ rating. The film contains a scene where a wolf licks a
woman's explicitly naked vagina. Thanks to Mike who comments: Wild is a highly regarded arthouse film about relationships, focusing on a discontented woman who starts a romantic relationship with a
wolf.... Never seen in the UK before, it's recently been picked by MUBI. Not sure whether they intend to release it on physical media, but at the moment you can see it on the MUBI website and even on amazon prime video in the UK.
To cut a long story short, at around 52:30, there's a scene where a naked woman sitting on a toilet has her vagina (explicitly) licked for around 10 seconds by a wolf. Presumably it's been released on
streaming in the UK because it's not illegal under extreme pornography laws. The law and the CPS guidance specifically say that if an image forms part of a sequence of images, we should look to the wider sequence to decide if the image is a pornographic
one. In this case the wider sequence of images (i.e. the film) isn't pornographic so the wolf image isn't pornographic and therefore it's legal. If that's true, then it's the first and only case since the act was implemented in 2008 in which a beasty
image which would have been illegal in a pornographic film becomes legal in a conventional narrative film. It is a possibility that MUBI are publishing it because they don't know the law. But that's unlikely - they know full well
that the film is controversial, and they frequently submit films to the BBFC for classification on physical media, so they know the rules. They seem not to have submitted this one though.
Summary Notes
A strange encounter with a wild wolf at the edge of Ania's cold, mundane town sets off a deep-seated passion within her, shattering the drudgery of her dull days. Determined to hunt the untamed creature, she finds herself
pulled to the natural world as a fearless lust for the wolf grows, eliciting a desire for her own sexuality and a disregard for social graces, repulsing yet attracting everyone around her. As the balance between the natural world and modern civilization
begins to tip, so too do Ania's inhibitions, forcing her to question the glaring hypocrisies closing in on her.

the film was considered too strong for '15'. The distributor chose to reduce the very strong language in the film's final edit, leaving a single use of 'cunt' said in frustration, which could be accommodated at the '15'
already required by the other violence, gore and strong language in the work. |

From IMDb. Even after making cuts, the BBFC felt it necessary to screen a cut version in front of a test audience of children and parents to check if enough had been removed. And in fact this resulted in further cuts to the wild boar attack on the

- Cut scene where the nurse is attacked by the dog/boar after she puts the baby basket into the river
- Willow zaps the troll with his wand, and 2 creatures emerge from its skin. In the cut version, the bit where the creatures quickly rip the
skin off of the troll is missing.
- A scene with Bavmorda using magic to transform soldiers attempting to siege a castle into pigs. The transformation details are cut along with screams of agony and pig squeals.
- Reduced violence in the
fight between Airk and Kael by removing shot of Airk jerking back as he is stabbed in abdomen; reducing some of the redness of blood on Airk's face;
- Deleted violence in climatic fights including the second sword thrust into General Kael when
Madmartigan steps on the sword and drives it through him. The cut version only shows Madmartigan step on the sword, then cuts to Kael falling.
- Cut scene during the battle between Bavmorda and Fin Raziel which actually showed where the scratches
on Fin's face came from.

Winter Kills is a 1979 USA comedy mystery thriller by William Richert. Starring Jeff Bridges, John Huston and Anthony Perkins.
Originally released in 1979. This is often referred to as a cut or UK

so seems to contradict the consensus. Maybe there are 3 versions. Summary Notes 19 years after President Timothy Keegan was assassinated, his brother Nick discovers a dying man
claiming to have been the gunman. While trying to avoid his wealthy and domineering father's attempts to control his actions, Nick follows the clues that have been handed to him. As he progresses, it becomes increasingly difficult to discern the real

From article from movie-censorship.com : Director John R. Leonetti ( Annabelle ) said early on that
his movie was initially much gorier and received the MPAA's "R" rating in the first round. He also said that he considers this "Unrated Director's Cut" to be the better version of his film. There's a lot more censored than the
mere runtime difference of just one minute would suggest. That is due to the usage of alternate material and CGI blood censorship.

v The Witch who Came from the Sea - 1976 US horror by Matt Cimber.
The Witch who
Came from the Sea is a 1976 US horror by Matt Cimber. With Millie Perkins, Lonny Chapman and Vanessa Brown.
Always uncut but briefly banned as a video nasty in 1984. Passed 18 uncut for 2006 DVD. Uncut and MPAA R rated in the US. Summary Review: Odd little gem A sensationalist cover got
this video into trouble "A young woman's nightmare of incest and castration... Molly has a way with razors!" The actual castration scene of course is well toned down. Here is an odd little gem of a film that fortunately has
resurfaced on DVD, boasting a pristine film transfer. Descriptions of the film, the title of the film, and even the DVD cover itself do little to relate, or even hint at what is, as it turns out, an altogether strange, unsettling, humorous, and
entertaining cinematic treat. The off kilter acting styles, unnatural tone, and dark humor of the film shares a kinship to the works of David Lynch. Highly recommended.

both families, Amy Whitlock and Bill Lanier are planning on getting married. The Laniers have sent bulldozers onto the old Whitlock Estate to level the land for a construction project. Morgan Whitlock and his daughter Amy make a futile effort to stop the
bulldozers that overturn headstones and churn up graves in the Whitlock Cemetery. That hammernight, an overturned coffin opens and Vanessa Whitlock, the witch buried centuries ago, rises from the grave. Together with Morgan, they use their supernatural
powers and soon, one-by-one, the Laniers meet with fatal accidents. Tracy Lanier follows Amy into the family crypt and is astonished to see Vanessa and her witches in weird supernatural rites.

Witchcraft is a 1988 Italy horror by Fabrizio Laurenti (as Martin Newlin). Starring David Hasselhoff, Linda Blair and Catherine Hickland.
Cut by the BBFC for 1989 VHS and pre-cut for 2002 DVD. Uncut and MPAA R
rated in the US. Revieiews suggest that the UK 2020 Blu-ray is uncut but there is not a BBFC database entry to suppport this. Summary Review: Dismal When a storm strands a group on a Massachusetts
island where the only dwelling is an old hotel supposedly haunted by the ghost of a former German actress (Knef), the result is the standard horror film as each of the cast is picked off one-by-one. In the review guidelines
it says not to write one word reviews, but you could about this film, and that would be DISMAL. So many basic and obvious techniques are used, like: Wind blowing at scary moments, or crackling thunder storms. It is also a
horribly predictable storyline, and I would confidently say that a Scooby Doo show contains more mystery and suspense.

Witches - 1990 UK / USA family horror fantasy by Nicolas Roeg.
The Witches is a 1990 UK / USA family horror fantasy by Nicolas Roeg.
Starring Anjelica Huston, Mai Zetterling and Jasen Fisher.
Cut by the BBFC for a PG rating. There is an uncut European version. Uncut in the US but with an alternative happy ending Summary Notes A young boy, recently orphaned, is taken to
England by his grandmother. At a hotel in which they are staying, a group of witches have gathered to prepare a plot to rid the world of all children. This is the kind of movie you can watch over and over, and each time
you'll find something new to laugh at. Trying to mimic the hilariously delivered lines in the film, has yet to lose it's novelty. The film certainly does do justice to the classic Roald Dahl novel about the adventures of
Luke, a young boy staying at an English seaside hotel which happens to be inhabited by the entire population of English child-hating witches and their supreme leader, the grand high witch, who are all under the guise of nice charitable ladies.
