Ebola Syndrome is a 1996 Hong Kong crime horror by Herman Yau Starring Anthony Chau-Sang Wong, Yeung-Ming Wan and Fui-On Shing
Cut by Hong Kong censors when it was released and this is the version that was widely
distributed thereafter. A nearly uncut extended version was released in Austria but the film was finally released fully uncut on US Blu-ray in 2021. Likely it was this uncut version that was remarkably passed 18 uncut by the BBFC in 2022.
Summary review: Sicko Gore
A Chinese restaurant worker wanted for murder in Hong Kong contracts Ebola in South Africa, becomes immune to it, and unknowingly spreads the virus there, then comes back to
Hong Kong and continues to infect people with it.
A kind of sicko gore film that will never be equalled in Western cinema. The whole film is as twisted as possible as we are shown acts of murder, masturbation, rape and
cannibalism in safe Hongkong style! There is no point in trying to review this as some kind of a serious film because this is pure trash and b-level horror/gore film.

From the darkly erotic imagination of Alain Robbe-Grillet comes a dreamlike fable in which a group of decadent French students
are drawn into the psychological and sexual games of a mysterious Dutchman (Pierre Zimmer). Once they imbibe his "fear powder," the students experience a series of hallucinatory episodes: ruminations on death, explorations of sexual curiosity,
and striking tableaux of sadomasochistic fantasy. This special edition includes an interview with writer/director Robbe-Grillet, and a complete alternate cut of the film, entitled N. THROWS THE DICE.

N. Rolls the Dice (N. a pris les de's... ) is less a new film as it is a radical remix of Eden and After, made for television using mostly footage
and outtakes from the first film -- with some new footage -- to create something original. The film is a mystery -- it marks itself out immediately as an anti-detective film, criticising the way crime films are too clean, lacking the enigmas and the
vagaries of real life. And so here, the titular character throws the dice to decide randomly what will develop in this story.
v Edge of Sanity
- 1989 UK / France / Hungary / USA horror thriller by Gérard Kikoïne.
The acting is generally solid, with two major exceptions. Glynis Barber is out of place and looks uncomfortably
wooden. This is more than made up for by the superb performance of Anthony Perkins. He conveys all the depravity of Jack Hyde with a single twitch and loads a simple phrase like 'Our lucky day' with enough menace to fuel an entire series of mundane
slasher pics.
The director (Gerard Kikoine on his legitimate debut - he's a converted pornmaster) shows plenty of neat touches and novel angles. Overall, highly impressive stuff and deserving of praise, especially for not
trying to produce a 'happy ending'.
Perkins' performance alone is worth the rental price.

Sequences in the underground sex club were trimmed to remove shots of enema porn

on home video. Uncut in the US but a legal dispute between Jodorowsky and the distributors delayed a home video release for many years.
Summary review: The Original Cult Movie
It's not an ordinary
movie, it has the look and feel of those violent Westerns produced in Mexico back in the 60's and 70's, but this is something more. Much, much more.
This film is often regarded as one of the original cult films that
sparked the Midnight Movie craze of the seventies. If you have a taste for midnight movies and get a kick out of absurd or unconventional themes, you'll probably like this film on many levels. The film is a journey, and it's a testament to Alejandro
Jodorowsky's vision and skill that one actually feels like they're along for the ride . The path in itself is just as mysterious as the implications of what awaits just beyond the horizon.
No one can tell you what
it is, it simply has to be experienced. Much of what you take from this film is actually what you brought to it. Bring an open mind and you'll be amazed.

At 6:55s the man in the chair is skewered by Elektra from behind. In the uncut version, you see his gun dangling from the tip of her sword, which protrudes from his shirt (a nice touch). In the cut version, this shot was replaced with a close-up shot
of his hand holding the gun and then going limp. The director says the MPAA thought it was too early in the movie for something that graphic.
At 57:01 Elektra's friend and business contact is decapitated while kneeling on the floor of his
house. In the uncut version, you see the sword stroke touch his neck in one frame, followed by three frames of his head flying up and away from the neck. In the cut version, the frame prior to the blade touching the neck is shown, followed by an
alternative shot of the antagonist swinging his sword, then it cuts to black.
At 84:16 when Elektra dispatches the leader of the bad guys down a well, she stabs him twice in the uncut version, with the second occurring at 84:22, but only once in
the cut version.
At 85:06 Elektra throws one of her blades lethally at the evil Treasure woman through the hedges, and skewers her through the left eye. In the uncut version, three frames were restored in the profile shot of the knife
approaching her and knocking her backwards. In the cut version, the scene cuts from the previous approach shot directly to the blade already in her eye and knocking her backwards.

Summary Review:
Brutal Nights
Joe D'Amatos Emanuelle in America is one of the most notorious Italian sleaze epics ever. The story is about journalist Laura Gemser seeking out sensational news. She encounters a woman who loves
horses, stays with a couple in Venice who hold big orgies, a hotel where old women pay for the services of willing men and a senator who likes snuff movies.
Director D'Amato leaves nothing to the imagination with some
hardcore sex (mostly softcore), very disturbing snuff gore footage of women being tortured and the most famous scene a woman masturbating a horse!. If you like extreme sleaze cinema this film is a must see.

Infamous exploitation movie supposedly mixing hardcore, bestiality and a bizarre subplot about the making of torture and snuff movies. Joe D Amato had this to say about those scenes:

movie, you know?
Joe D'Amato was asked how the rumor about the snuff footage being "real" got started and he had this to say:
...we shot that footage in a warehouse with a lot of
"extras" (actors). One of the girls in the scene wanted to make more money then she was making as an extra, so she filed a lawsuit saying that she was really abused during the filming....
Needless to say that with an
entire film crew as witness to the fake acting, she lost the case. However, the rumour managed to circulate as truth.

2017 cinema release
The BBFC commented:
Company chose to reduce the number of uses of strong language (by bleeping spoken uses and blurring written uses) in order to obtain a 12A classification. An uncut 15 classification was available.
The BBFC Insight reveals a few more details about the content after cuts:
Infrequent [3 occurrences] strong language ('fuck') is seen on a website page. There is also milder bad language, including uses of shit ,
arse and God , and some bleeped and visually obscured additional uses of stronger language.
There is brief sexualised nudity, including a shot of pole dancing. Several scenes feature non sexual nudity, including
female genital nudity.

Summary Review: Alyssa Milano Nude
An 18-year-old college freshman is seduced by a handsome vampire lover who introduce her to a dark world of carnal desires.
So
what does this movie have? Well, Alyssa Milano, frequently nude, and occasionally in softcore sex scenes. Does that make it worth watching? Yes, definitely if you enjoy Alyssa Milano. Her portrayal of a naive, virginal co-ed rings a little less than
true, but her seduction scene with the photographer alone is almost worth the price of the tape. The vampire orgy sequence and her dream foursome certainly round out the cost of the video.
Emmanuelle , released in 1974 was the first soft core porn movie to achieve major box office success, and this after the French government tried to have it
banned. With utter predictability this ensured the film was an overnight success in it's native France, and it also went on to triumph in the USA where it was marketed as an art house movie.
Directed by Just Jaeckin, who
also directed The Story Of O the movie features some truly eye catching cinematography using the exotic Thai locations and the performance of the striking natural beauty Kristel is surprisingly good.
As soft-core
porn Emmanuelle is probably as good as you will see. Judged purely as a piece of cinema it's not that great but most people will view it purely as the former so it does it's job very well.
It was given much consideration before it was judged that in the full context of an uncut classification it was clearer that there was no endorsement of the 'rape myth'. It was consequently passed '18' without cuts

The cut to the smoking of the cigarette was waived as tasteless but not harmful or illegal
The sex cuts required on film in 1974 were no longer necessary by contemporary standards and only two cuts were insisted upon for video release, namely:
to remove the woman smoking a cigarette through her vagina and
to remove the entire rape in the opium den, as cut on film in the late 70s.
Unfortunately, a duplication error led to the uncut version being released on video in 1991, leading to a major and costly product recall.

In 1979 the BBFC now under James Ferman went on a crusade against the depiction of sexual violence. They revoked the X certificate and asked for a further 1:01s of cuts to delete the rape scene. Ferman warned the film's distributor that if the
Board's requested cut of 61 seconds was ignored, he would inform local authorities that the film was illegal as it stood.

1974 cinema release
From BBFC Case Study:
Cuts were made to the film, principally to reduce the sexual detail. As well as reducing the amount of implied thrusting, oral sex and masturbation in a number of sequences, the Board deleted an
entire scene showing a night club act in which a woman 'smokes' a cigarette with her vagina.
Perhaps surprisingly given the later treatment of the film, a sequence in which Emmanuelle is raped in an opium den as part of
her 'sexual education' was left largely intact, with only minimal cuts to reduce the amount of thrusting seen.
Emmanuelle 2 is a 1975 French erotic drama by Francis Giacobetti With Sylvia Kristel, Umberto Orsini and Frédéric Lagache.
Cut for X rated cinema release in 1976 and an extended version in 1982. Cut versions were released on 18 rated VHS. Uncut on 18 rated DVD. Uncut and MPAA Unrated in the US.
Summary Review: A very erotic soapy massage
Emmanuelle returns to her husband in Hong Kong and proceeds to have several extramarital affairs -- with his knowledge, of course. Her husband's lover and American guest are both very puzzled by their openness.
Emmannuelle films are burdened with ponderous, annoying pretentiousness, and the audience must sit through way too much boring down-time between sex scenes that tend to tease more than satisfy.
However
this episode features the lovely Catherine Rivet and it is well worthwhile sitting through the stodge for the very erotic soapy massage.

Some cuts were waived in 2001 but the release was still cut with the following BBFC comment: Company chose to cut clear sight of dildo penetration for 18. An uncut R18 was available to the distributor.
Emmanuelle 5 was released in two versions: one with softcore love scenes typical of the series, and a French home video version that extended several scenes with hardcore sex
directed by Borowczyk himself. The scenes in question are the Love Express and dance studio segments, embellished with penetration, ejaculation and even a woman urinating. This VHS version also omits several minutes of footage seen in the theatrical
version (including dialogue and crucial plot), so it cannot be considered an "uncut version".

Judas, a wealthy playboy living in Hong Kong, is obsessed with snakes. His apartment is full of them, and he treats them as if
they were his children. One night Judas' brother persuades him to accompany him to see a dance act at a nightclub. Judas is astounded to see that the act consists of a beautiful Asian woman who dances nude while holding a python. He is immediately
smitten, and winds up hiring her to take care of his snakes while he's away on business. However, things start to take a sinister turn.
Personally I found both the film and Olinka Hardiman boring. Its interest lies only with those "completists" interested in either Olinka Hardiman's nudity or the
"Emmanuelle" series. However I doubt that this film has any relationship to the "Emmanuelle" series except for opportunistic exploitation of the title.
Emmanuelle's Revenge is a 1993 France romance by Francis Leroi. Starring Marcela Walerstein, George Lazenby and Sylvia Kristel.

2017 cinema release
The BBFC commented:
This film was originally seen for advice, at which stage the company was advised it was likely to be classified PG but that their preferred U could be achieved by removing some mild bad language. When the film was submitted for
formal classification, the mild bad language in question had been removed and the film was therefore classified U.
The BBFC explained further in its annual report covering 2017:
The early submission contained a visual use of WTF, which is considered as disguised strong language, and a use of the term 'turd'. The terms are likely
to confound parental expectation at the most junior category, so the BBFC advised the distributor to remove the language in order to obtain the desired U classification.
