The Comic Book and The Lake Point Cottages both contain strong depictions of sexual conduct between the adult Humbert Humbert and the 14
year old Lolita. In the case of the feature version of Lolita, the lack of specific sexual detail within the overall context of the film allowed the Board to classify Lolita in the adult category. In the case of these two works, however, we are presented
with out-of-context sexualised images of an underaged girl. These scenes both contain images of sexual nudity and behaviour which were not present in the feature version and which are made even more problematic when presented in isolation or out of
context as here.
In The Comic Book, we see a brief shot of Lolita's bare breasts (not present in the feature version) as well as lingering close up shots of Lolita's legs, caressed by Humbert. The atmosphere of
the scene is highly sexually charged. In The Lake Point Cottages, we once again have an extended version of a scene passed in the feature version of the film. As with The Comic Book, we are presented with shots of Lolita's breasts and torso and a brief
shot of pubis as her knickers are pulled down. These shots were not present in the version of the film presented to the Board for classification and would not have been passed had they been included.
Our main
concern with these highly eroticised scenes is that they mightinvite feelings of arousal towards a child. We have a particular concern in the context of DVD extras where the scenes in question can be readily accessed and replayed at any speed. The
obvious sexualisation of a 14 year old girl with the use of such provocative detail must raise concerns about the potential misuse of this material by those predisposed to seek illegal sexual encounters. There is, in the Board's view, a serious
possibility of 'harm' being caused to some individuals, and potentially through their actions, to society more widely.
The Board has therefore refused cetificates to these two works.
The BBFC cut the 2009 cinema release by 26s for a 12A certificate:

Summary Review: A great start to the series
This is the 1st film in the original series of six. However for some releases parts 1 &
2 are combined into one episode, Shogun Assassin. It is generally held that it is better to watch the series in its original 6 parts.
The story of a Ronin (masterless samurai) who wanders the countryside of Japan with his small
child, having various adventures.
An original take on Samurai movies with the main character carrying around his infant son in an armed and dangerous baby cart. His infant son even helps him in battle sometime. No big surprise
that this all is being based on a manga-series, by Kazuo Koike, who also contributed to this movie its script.
The violence is deliberately over-the-top and the entire series is well known for featuring fountains of blood,
whenever someone gets struck down or gets a limb or head cut off.
The movie is good looking with fine directing and is a great start to the series.

Summary Review: An astonishing, great film
This is the 3rd film in the original series of six. However for some releases parts 1 & 2 are combined into one
episode, Shogun Assassin, and then this film becomes the 2nd in a series of five.
In this episode Ogami Itto volunteers to be tortured by Yakuza to save a prostitute and is hired by their leader to kill an evil chamberlain.
An astonishing, great film. Wakayama Tomisaburo does not just act, he embodies. To me, this amazing actor is Lone Wolf of the Kazure Okami comic book series (itself a masterpiece). I can never get enough of looking at him.
Most people focus on the violence of these films, which is done beautifully, but for me, the most important thing is the simple, pure, and usually wordless characterization of the relationship between father and son.

Based on his short story The Last Illusion , Clive Barker helmed this adaptation entitled Lord of
Illusions , and offers up a good amount of shocks, scares, gore, and a near excellent plot
Scott Bakula stars as private detective Harry D'amour, and he gets involved with a bizarre case involving a magician (Kevin J.
O'Connor) who years before had killed prophet and mentor Nix (played to perfection by Daniel Von Bargen). However, Nix has seemingly been resurrected, and he and his followers have plans on the destruction of the world.
There are some plot holes and now and then some crummy acting (courtesy of the beautiful Famke Janssen), but for the most part Lord of Illusions is a great horror film from one of the great masters of horror.

There was a viewing of Lords of Chaos (2018), a film about the Norwegian black metal band, Mayhem, inspired by the late 1990s book, Lords of
Chaos: The Bloody Rise of the Satanic Metal Underground .
The film includes a drawn out suicide scene in which a young man cuts his wrists and then slashes his throat, before shooting himself in the head. Despite bloody detail
the scene is not glamorised, on the contrary, it reflects his nihilistic and satanic views and the harm they bring. There are also scenes of strong bloody violence, including a homophobic attack. Although it is detailed, sadistic and aggravated by the
discriminatory motivation, it too reflects on the negative character of the band member carrying out the crime and is in no way glamorised. The same is true of a later murder.
It is expected that the film will attract some
controversy, as it has done elsewhere. But the stronger moments individually, and the film taken as a whole, is agreed at 18 for the strong bloody violence, gore, and the scene of suicide.
Despite being shown after 11pm they made cuts to the suicide scene. Predictably they cut the method of slitting up the arms instead of across the wrists.

Summary Review: Don't Take Seriously
Set in a Nazi "Love Camp" that services the needs of front line officers. The video packaging claims that this film is based on fact, but
the plot is so far fetched you would have a hard time believing that. Two young WAC officers go undercover as POW's in the prison camp hoping to get some information from a scientist that's being held there. Unfortunately things go wrong and they end up
overstaying their welcome and being subjected to the same indignities as the other inmates.
The violence and sexploitation are best taken as tongue-in-cheek. By enjoying the exploits of the two WAC officers, Maria Lease and
Kathy Williams, the movie is quite entertaining.
Both Lease and Williams could pass as Playboy Playmates. Both girls have no less than four scenes each were their wares are sampled - talk about copping a feel, these horny
Nazis devour these two toothsome actresses!
Love Camp 7 is a US film, from 1969, in which female agents are sent undercover into a Nazi prison camp where female prisoners are sexually abused, raped and tortured by soldiers. It
was previously refused a classification for DVD release in 2002. The present submission is for distribution on VOD.
The BBFC's Classification Guidelines state that We may refuse to classify content which makes rape or other
non-consensual sexually violent behaviour look appealing or acceptable, reinforces the suggestion that victims enjoy such behaviour, or invites viewer complicity in such behaviour. They also state that As a last resort, the BBFC may refuse to classify a
work, in line with the objective of preventing non-trivial harm risks to potential viewers and, through their behaviour, to society. We may do so, for example, where a central concept of the work is unacceptable, such as a sustained focus on sexual rape,
other non-consensual sexually violent behaviour or sadistic violence.
Because LOVE CAMP 7 is largely comprised of scenes of non consensual sexual activity, including rape, presented in a manner that is intended to arouse viewers,
its central concept is unacceptable and the sexually abusive material it contains too pervasive for cuts to be an effective solution.
Accordingly, the BBFC has refused classification to this work.
The film was recently submitted for
classification for VOD release. Given its status as a previously rejected work it was viewed by the entire Compliance team and certain members of the Policy team before referral to the Board.
The Board noted that there are a
number of prolonged scenes of non-consensual sexual activity, including rape, in Love Camp 7 , in many cases featuring a focus on female nudity. Such scenes are frequently gratuitous, both in terms of length and detail, going some way beyond what is
required by the narrative, and in some cases perpetuating harmful rape myths. These issues were considered in relation to the BBFC's 2019 Guidelines consultation, which found depictions of sexual violence to be of particular concern to the public.
The Board discussed the extent to which the film's datedness and risibility limits its impact, and considered the film's likely appeal and audience. It was observed that, while aspects of the film are dated, the sequences of sexual
violence and abuse are not. It was also noted that while the film is different in many respects to modern pornography, its close and repeated focus on nudity means the sequences of sexual violence and abuse still have the potential to arouse.
The Board concluded that because that as Love Camp 7 is largely comprised non-consensual sexual activity, including rape, presented in a manner that is intended to arouse viewers, its central concept is unacceptable and the sexually
abusive material too pervasive for cuts to be an effective solution. Accordingly, the Board agreed that the BBFC should refuse to classify Love Camp 7 .

Love Camp 7 is an exploitation film set in a Nazi 'love camp' during the second World War. The film contains numerous scenes of women prisoners being abused, tortured and
humiliated by their Nazi captors. Indeed the whole purpose of the work is to invite male viewers to relish the spectacle of naked women being humiliated for their titillation. Love Camp 7 contains both eroticised depictions of sexual violence and

The producers, of course, stressed their good intentions to the censors. The press book for Love Variations stated,

Summary Review: Cult Following
In 1830, forty years to
the day since the last manifestation of their dreaded vampirism, the Karnstein heirs use the blood of an innocent to bring forth the evil that is the beautiful Mircalla - or as she was in 1710, Carmilla. The nearby Finishing School offers rich pickings
not only in in the blood of nubile young ladies but also with the headmaster who is desperate to become Mircalla's disciple.
Just when the Hammer Christopher Lee Dracula franchise began to run out of steam in the late
sixties, the company revved up its product by turning to Sheridan Le Fanu's Carmilla and filming several versions of the novel.
Lust is admittedly shaky in terms of script, and the ambiance is on and off (but wow is it
terrific when it's on). What makes this click with so many horror buffs, in particularly those who love lesbian vampire films, is the one-time star Yvette Stensgard, a gorgeous Scandinavian child-woman who looks absolutely innocent (particularly when her
eyes fetchingly cross), even the moment before she rips open the neck of her next victim. Lots of nudity, with nothing but blood covering her nubile body.
A genuine cult following has formed around this film because of
Stensgard's devastating charisma, which would never be properly employed again, by Hammer or any other company.
Lust For Freedom is a 1987 USA crime thriller by Eric Louzil. Starring Melanie Coll, William J Kulzer and Judi Trevor.
