Do San (the God of gamblers) is a legendary gambler helped by his supernatural abilities. He undertakes to help a friend pay a debt by beating his
friend's advisory at the card table. Despite being assigned a bodyguard Do San has a freak accident which leaves him with partial memory loss and at a mental stage of a child. The small time hustler Knife, his side-kick and his girl friend, being
responsible for the accident takes care of the retarded Do San. After some time they discover that he has not lost all of his powers and takes him on a round at the local gambling halls. After being chased by both Knife's loan-shark and enemies closer to
the home of Do San, a final showdown at the card tables may take place.
It isn't John Woo, but it's still a great action thriller. Not massive on the stunts until the end and boy, it's worth waiting for. The
beauty of Chow yun Fat is that he does all of his own stunts (watch out for the: doing a somersault, catching two guns in each hand, and shooting a bad guy before he hits the floor). The acting is admittedly camp, but it's all part of the charm of Hong
Kong cinema.

The biggest changes concern the beginning and the end of the film.
The beginning has been recut. Instead of a melancholic look back towards part 2, the director removed the complete church ceremony here and throws the viewer into the action much more briskly with the negotiation conversation between Michael and the
archbishop.The film gains some pace as a result.T
The murder of Don Lucchesi in the final act of the film was restored to the (desired) original state of the director. The former MPAA cut thus gives way to a much bloodier shot.
Last but not least, we have the final scene and, like the beginning, it has been recut. Instead of a melancholic look back at the previous parts, the coda version here stays on the dancing Michael with his daughter and then gently
fades over to the old Michael in Sicily.

Summary Review: Old ninja movies
Two ninjas, Michael and Sherri are on two seperate missions but always team up to find the same Ninja attacking them.
Sheeri is out to find her father's murderer and Michael must protect the Golden Ninja Warrior statue for a ceremony in China.
I like old ninja movies. The fights are usually pretty well choreographed, the storylines are
unbelievable and the dubbing is hilarious. While Golden Ninja Warriors has all these things there are a few points that I didn't totally enjoy.
I have a problem with this movie. It's the attitude towards women that this women has. I know that it
is an early Asian movie but it made the movie unappealing. Within the first ten or fifteen minutes we get to see a girl being viciously whipped for a prolonged period of time. This is followed by the beginnings of a sexual assault.
Sword fighter Golden Swallow is living peacefully with her friend by a waterfall. Soon she is accused of going on a bloody rampage against an evil clan. As it turns out, the actual culprit
is an old beau named Silver Roc who is impersonating her to draw her out into the open. A complicated love triangle develops as her affections are torn between the two men while all three must also deal with the evil kungfu clan.
This early Shaw Brothers film is entertaining for the most part, if a bit gory. The martial arts are good but many fights scenes are shot with a shaky hand-held camera much like many Japanese movies from the same time.

International Version Cuts
The
rough cut was shown to the BBFC and MPAA. This resulted in a set of International version cuts that were common to the concerns of both censors. These cuts have become common to all releases of GoldenEye and look unlikely to ever be reversed. The cuts

During the pre-credit sequence, when 006 is shot, originally one clearly saw the impact to the head, but this has now been deleted
The sex scene with Xenia making out with the admiral and eventually suffocating him has been much reduced.
Bond's rabbit punch on Xenia during a car ride was moved offscreen
The Severnaya hijack sequence was also cut with numerous shots removed of the workers being gunned down by Xenia.
Furthermore, Xenia's death was also toned
down; originally her body was seen writhing against the tree for longer, before her back breaks with a crack and she slumps dead. The slump, sans sound effect, is all that remains.
When Trevelyan turns over after falling from the dish, the shot
showing his bloodied face and a trickle of blood running oozing from his mouth was shortened.

In addition to the International Version cuts, additional cuts were made that were specific to the UK release
Towards the end of the film, as Xenia attempts to crush Bond, her headbutt to Natalya was removed when the latter tried to free Bond. In fact, the entire episode of Natalya swinging a log at Xenia, Xenia grabbing it and telling Natalya to Wait for
your turn before headbutting her was removed.
All head butts were removed from the climatic Bond vs Trevelyan fight around the antenna room and cradle. This included attempted head butts that failed to hit their target. In addition, the
contact sound effects throughout the fight were toned down.

Moore's Director's Cut, which will be substantially longer than the 97 minute-long theatrical version, with the Moscow-levelling car chase around 30% longer.
The second is the 12A version that Fox have requested
specifically to play in the UK (the version that will play in the US is filled with swearing and splashes of claret, and is R-rated). On screen, we watch as someone has a gun put to his head, and his brains promptly blown out. That won't be in the UK,

This work was originally seen for advice in an unfinished form. The company was advised that the film was likely to receive a 15 certificate but that their preferred 12A classification could be achieved by making a
number of cuts to both language and visuals. When the finished version of the film was submitted for formal classification, edits had been made:
to reduce the number of uses of strong language (both fuck and motherfucker) and
to reduce sequences of bloody violence, including blood sprays when characters are shot in the head, and
punches to restrained individuals.

The former leader of a commando rescue attempt into Vietnam tries to discover why his squad members are being murdered, one-by-one, after the
war is over.
This low-budget 'gem' from 1977 was a modest hit and pretty much made Chuck Norris a star. Norris is a former CIA commando whose dark past comes back to haunt him when the politician that set him up in a raid
turned death trap needs to erase that unpleasant part of history.
This is an old school action movie, back when they bothered to have plot and mystery prior to the fist fights and car chases, and it will probably bore many
expecting wall to wall kung-fu action. Nothing happens until nearly an hour into the movie, then the pay off begins.
Recommended only to Norris fans on a nostalgia kick.

The most recent [18] classification of THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY was a Distributor
Change . This is a compliance process whereby new versions of previously rated works are compared to the BBFC archive copies. If a work is essentially the same then it can be passed as a Distributor Change without the need for viewing by BBFC
examiners. The latest classifications therefore the same as the version passed in 2004 (apart from the removal of a trailer), it's simply being distributed by a different company.
The option to have the work viewed afresh
for a change in category was open to the distributing company in this instance but they opted to retain the 18 classification.

Directed with a sense of ambiguous poignancy by Alan Gibson, who fans of 70's horror will recall from Crescendo, Dracula A.D. 1972 and The Satanic Rites Of Dracula.
Goodbye Gemini is further aided by some sumptuous art-direction, imbuing the picture with a contemporary look which when viewed today does not befall other more dated looking examples of films made from this era.
I can
assure 1960's/70's genre fans will find this a worthwhile time.

It seems that according to a video interview with Sacha Baron Cohen that the film also suffered category cuts in the US to achieve an R rating. It seems that censors from the MPAA were convinced that an 'elephant scene' fell into the category of
bestiality. (But surely bestiality would need to be cut at any level and wouldn't be suitable at NC-17 either).
Cohen says that he challenged the MPAA's definition of bestiality and also cut 6 minutes from a 9 minute scene. He suggested that the cuts
were a ploy to obtain the scene he wanted and that the cut material had been added just to be offered as cuts in negotiations.

Very tame! Yes the film
has pointless torture, but it has very little nudity and any sexual humiliation is implied and is never in the view of the camera. Very hard to see why this was banned.
This movie is a prime example of pointless
torture movies, While in context the aspect of torture in a horror film i.e. Saw, Hellraiser, Texas chainsaw (the original) etc... works great because it's bad people getting their come uppance or just a cautionary of the cruelty of man but this film is
just a fictionalized snuff film with no story what so ever. Watching people getting brutally killed (particularly those who were just there) for the bulk of the movie then.... "the end" after some silly f/x does nothing for me except feeling a
little dirty for watching this piece of trash.

I have to say I was impressed. Geller does a fine job and the foreigner abroad angle adds
a new spin.
Some good cheap jump scares combine with good genuine scares and the film is packed with creepy, grotesque sights and has a nice unrelenting pace as it keeps the shocks coming thick and fast and the final 3rd
really delivers the brutal and grotesque goodies...but it still managed to add character and suspense. Very good indeed overall.
Avoid the heavily cut theatrical version.

Guilty of Romance is a Japanese thriller, subtitled in English. Police detective Yoshida
investigates a gruesome murder when two mutilated bodies are found in an abandoned apartment in a Tokyo red light district. Her search for the victims' identities leads her to Mitsuko, a respected female university professor who lives a dangerous secret
life as a prostitute, and an apparently demure housewife, Izumi.
The film contains a number of scenes of strong sex, including a woman being surprised in a bath and masturbated under water, a couple having uninhibited sex
in a toilet, a woman having sex with a man in the shower of a love hotel , and a woman having sex with a man during the shooting of a porn film. Some of the scenes feature full frontal female nudity and prolonged sexual thrusting. The film also
contains some scenes of strong nudity, including a scene in which a woman is coerced into stripping as part of a porn shoot.
The film contains a complex scene of sexual violence in which a man, who has just engaged in
consensual sexual activity with a woman, refuses to allow her to leave. He then restrains the woman and forces her to phone her husband to apologise for not returning home, as he continues to thrust into her. The woman is clearly distressed and the focus
is on her lack of consent and the man's brutality, rather than on any erotic detail.
The film also contains a scene of erotic asphyxiation, in which a man pays a woman to choke him during sexual activity, in order to help
him reach climax. However, the potentially lethal nature of the practice is clear and the practice is not glamorised or promoted. The idea of erotic asphyxiation is unlikely to be a novel one to most adults and there is no unusual instructional detail,
particularly when compared to previous films such as In The Realm Of The Senses (L'empire Des Sens).
The film also features one scene in which an adult woman squats down and appears to urinate in front of two young
children. However, there is no sexual element to the scene, which appears to have been carefully shot to avoid exposing the child actors to any actual urination. There is no lewdness or indecency that would raise concerns under the Protection of Children
Act 1978.

achieve a US R rating (I don't know what version will be picked up for UK distribution though). The R rating advises of pervasive depiction of anti social behaviour of juveniles, including violence, substance abuse, sexuality and language.

Contrary to an IMDb entry describing BBFC cuts requiring the word 'bloody' to be overdubbed 'ruddy', Tim has researched surviving BBFC documents and found no records of BBFC cuts being made for the cinema release. In
addition Tim recalls Richard Harris [playing Squadron Leader Barnsby] saying 'bloody' several times during a 1970s cinema screening. He notes that UK TV broadcast in the 1980s and 1990s also included the word 'bloody'.
Tim suspects that the IMDb
observation is the wrong way round and maybe it is the US Version that was edited to replace 'bloody' with 'ruddy' as the Americans had redubbed the word in other movies (eg Two Faces of Dr Jekyll). He also notes that J Lee Thompson had a thing about the

Summary Review: More Trash Fun
Here we are dealing with some yakuza members who rape and drug women. Pretty explicit sex scenes occupy about an hour on this 68-minute feature just very much like in
Entrails of a Virgin .
The movie is simple stupid, but I guess no-one has big expectations regarding it, so if you decided to watch it you know what you are doing and you'll definitely get you piece of fun. This is
not a horror film, looks like it pretends to be horror and not for a moment tries to hide its exploitative nature.
Verdict: buy it if you like exploitative flicks or you're a fan of Japanese extreme cinema. If you are not,
avoid it at all costs.

Summary Review : Sleazy, trashy and a bit gory
Soft-core filmmakers take nubile young women to a remote house under the pretense of advancing their careers. Too bad for
them a maniac in the form of a demon with a large penis is stalking and killing them.
There is a ton of soft-core sex (including demon sex), a beheading, a disemboweling, severed hand masturbation....well, these are things already
mentioned in previous comments so let's get to the point of why I enjoyed this movie.
Its sleazy, trashy, a bit gory, and a whole helluva lot of fun. This movie does things that were completely shocking and unexpected and had me, more
than once, laughing and crying out, OMG! . If you're like me you've seen just about every piece of exploitative filth made in the US and Europe, but this film tops them all. And it has an ending which left me gape-mouthed and wanting more.
As far as the optical censoring mentioned in other posts, yes, its true. Now to clarify this. The Japanese do not allow below the waist nudity, period. Optical fogging is a fact even in porn. To the user who hopes Synapse would
correct this, they won't. Check out their website and you can find an old news piece that talks about how the actress' wore small pieces of white tape over their genitalia. So, even if the fogging is removed, you won't see anything. But don't let this
stand in the way.
If you are a fan of Asian exploitation, horror, or manga I can't imagine you wouldn't enjoy this movie. In fact, that's what it reminded me of; a live action manga. So, check it out.

Summary Review
A brutally sadistic rape leads to a series of bizarre gory murders during
a midnight disco bowl-a-rama at a popular bowling alley. One by one, players of two teams meet blood-drenched gruesome deaths at the hand of a black bowling-gloved masked killer. This alley runs red with blood by sunrise.
However,
there is one notable exception. Gutterballs amps the sexual violence way past the norm with a near eight minute graphically sadistic gang rape that sets the rest of the movie into motion. It will repulse you and frankly, it sets Gutterballs close to a
level of grindhouse porn.
Is Gutterballs cheap and cheesy, slick and sleazy? Heck yes. Although I must admit, the ending did catch me off guard by about one third, so maybe pure gorehounds might get a kick from the naked boobies
and the sexual violence. I can even say I liked this more than Hostel II, so if you thought those were too tame, then Gutterballs is up your alley.

Originally MPAA R rated the film was cut for an MPAA PG-13 rated theatrical
release. This theatrical version was later dubbed a Director's Cut, maybe to contrast with the shortened VHS Version. The Original R rated version was released on US Blu-ray in 2024.
The VHS Version was cut by the BBFC for 15 rated 1992 VHS. The cuts
were waived in 2016 for the 12 rated Director's Cut DVD/Blu-ray.
Summary Notes

violent shots:
When zoanoid Lisker crushes zoanoid Segawa's head, blood is shown gushing onto the ground in the VHS version. The "director's cut" has a very slightly shorter version showing a shot of zoanoid Segawa on his knees with no blood.
When the guyver kills the snake-headed zoanoid, the VHS version shows him getting his arm ripped off and his neck snapped with blood splatter. The "director's cut" edits this out in favor of a cheap insert shot of the other zoanoids looking on.
When the guyver slashes zoanoid Weber, the VHS version shows blood splattering across her face and Misky's. The "director's cut" cuts away to a cheap close-up of zoanoid Striker looking on.

One scene cut for violence when submitted in 1994 to keep the certificate down to a 15 eg for a throat being cut. A slightly re-edited version was submitted in 2007 without cuts but the similar running time and lack of 'cuts waived' comment
suggests that the cuts are still present.
