Point Blank is a 1998 US prison film by Matt Earl Beesley. With Mickey
Rourke, Danny Trejo and Frederic Forrest.
Summary Review:
Over the top parody?
Convicted corporate criminal Howard engineers a prison break. The escapees storm a shopping mall and take a group of shoppers hostage (after
killing many more of them) before making their demands. Only Rudy, a former mercenary and brother of one of the fugitives, can take out the criminals before more of the hostages die.
A tongue in cheek parody of that whole action
movie genre, and a funny one at that. The slightly insane crime boss. Mickey Rourke grunts his way through the tough guy script with a bone dry delivery that make's you certain he's talking this whole thing seriously. Everything's over the top, the
acting, the stunts, and Bruce Lee like battle's, an instant underground classic.

Poltergeist is a 1982 USA horror by Tobe Hooper. Starring JoBeth
Williams and Heather O'Rourke and Craig T Nelson.
Never cut but was the subject of changing ratings. In the US the film was original MPAA R rated but the filmmakers protested successfully and got a PG rating (the PG-13 rating did not exist at the time).
When originally released in the UK the film was anticipated as being an X certificate, prohibiting anyone under 18 from seeing the film - this rating was also printed onto the poster art. This was due to a delay in the BBFC's introduction of the
new 15 certificate (which replaced the old AA rating), and UIP's wish to release the film as soon as possible. When the 15 certificate was introduced in November 1982 the film was re-rated to 15.
Poltergeist is a 2015 USA horror thriller by Gil Kenan. Starring Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt and Jared Harris.
Exists as a Theatrical Version and an Extended Version. Neither are cut in

Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (Spiderman, Evil Dead, The Grudge) and director Gil Kenan (Monster House) contemporise the classic tale about a family whose suburban

Summary Review: Titillating, realistic, sensitive
Strand Releasing brings us a new look at the porn industry with 9 to 5: Days in Porn , a titillating, realistic, sensitive film. It is a look at the people who
work in adult films.
What we want to know is what kind of people make porn movies---what motivates them and how long can they last? Does porn affect their personalities and their private lives?
The film does not glorify porn or porn stars but rather it is an honest look at the industry. It is real and totally unbiased and no conclusions are drawn. Of course the movie does titillate but that is because the actors themselves
do but that was not the purpose.

The BBFC commented:
Company chose to remove clear images of explicit sexual detail during the filming of scenes for sex works and in clips from sex works. An R18 was available with these images uncut. Six compulsory cuts were
also required to remove images of abusive and potentially harmful sexual activity.
The BBFC further commented in the 2010 Annual Report:
In some cases explicit sexual detail could not be justified and cuts were required
before works were classified '18'. The Porn Diaries, a documentary about the contemporary US porn industry, is one such example.
The film includes fly on the wall footage of porn scenarios being shot that contain several
brief images of explicit sex, pornographic in nature, together with images of dangerous, degrading and abusive sexual activity that would invariably be cut from sex works at 'R18'. Several cuts were required before the documentary was passed 18 .
Now in his late-fifties/early-sixties Jean-Pierre Leaud is still a fine actor who hits all the right notes in his performance as an aging pornographer. Leaud plays Jacques, a pornographer that had a slew of hits in the seventies but has retired. He now has a wife and an adult son he rarely speaks too, but decides to return to making movies.
Problem is, porn has changed since Jacques was making it and he's not able to make it the way he wants it too. As his world falls apart around him, Jacques begins to re-examine himself and, in the process, begins to lose
his mind.
The movie is actually a really good character study, although it sometimes takes itself to seriously. The movie has probably got more attention for it's graphic sex scene than anything else. This scene (which
occurs about 30 minutes into the movie) is graphic...But it's not. You see more of the guy than you do of the girl, in fact you really don't see anything of the girl. It is, technically, graphic...But.
A lot of the
reviewers on here say the movie is dull. I didn't find it dull; I actually found it pretty interesting and thought provoking. It's no masterpiece, it's not in a league with masterpieces, it's not even the best look at the world of pornography, but it's
definitely an underrated film.

Possession is a 1981 France/West Germany horror drama by Andrzej Zulawski. With Isabelle Adjani, Sam Neill and Margit Carstensen.
Never cut by the BBFC, but was banned as a video nasty.
Version history
There are several versions around the world but the 118min PAL/123min NTSC version is attributed with the tag Director's Cut. There is a rumour that 5 minutes were edited out the octopus baby miscarriage on the
metro. This appears to be false. The director himself has stated that the birth scene never did last 10 minutes. However a fair few scenes were cut during editing one of which clarifies what happens to Anna (Adjani). To the director's knowledge, none of
these have ever made it to any release of the film.
Summary Review: Art Horror
Set in the outbreak of world war 3, a couple, Isabelle Adjani and Sam Neill, are undergoing a
marital breakdown apparently mirroring the split of Berlin where they live. The wife cuts herself in the neck with an electric carving knife and partakes in an affair with an octopus creature.
During a secretive business
trip away, Mark learns that his wife Anna is growing restless in what he believed was their happy marriage. Upon his return home, he learns from her that she wants a divorce. They both go through a series of different emotions related to their situation
Possession is totally extraordinary. Packed with symbolism, it can be read on so many possible levels of interpretation it's bewildering. Set in a European city (obviously cold war Berlin) in an alienating mixture of ultra
modern buildings and decaying grandeur, visually it evokes a sense of dislocation.
Thematically, it seems to be a study of a marriage in the last phase of destruction, with Sam Neill and Isabelle Adjani. What follows is a
nightmarish and surreal two hours of startling images, bizarre acting and frequent bloodletting. Possession is a challenging art-horror.

A woman begins to suspect that her brother is possessed by a voodoo spirit.
I first watched this movie when I was just a teen and was riveted to the TV screen. I was amazed at the performance of the characters and the intensity of the plot.
If it was to be redone today there would be
no doubt superb special effects to make it seem realistic. Shirley MacLaine is quite the actress no matter what part she is playing on the big screen and even now I have high respect for her ability to perform.

Possessor exists as a cut US R rated version and an uncut MPA Unrated
Version titled Possessor Uncut. The producers were keen to differentiate between the two versions and the 'Uncut' tag is an official re-titling of the film. UK releases are the Uncut Version and are 18 rated.
Summary Notes

Reports indicate that the cinema release is uncut. However the running time of the cinema BBFC submission correlates better to the cut theatrical version.
Presented stateside by distributor Neon,
Possessor Uncut -- titled so to distinguish it from an R-rated version that also will be available in some markets -- is the complete version as far as director Brandon Cronenberg is concerned, replete with the uninhibited moments of sex and violence,
such as the transfixing erection glimpsed in a sequence memorably bathed in electric blue, that might otherwise have earned the film an NC-17 rating. Cronenberg commented:
Generally I prefer explicit violence, and I
prefer violence that is viscerally disturbing to people. I find it more unsettling if violence is very sanitized. If you have a PG-13 movie where 100 people get killed and no one bleeds, to me that's doing a disservice by trivializing the violence. So I
prefer people to have that visceral response, because you should.
